Railgun is built on Ethereum. @RAILGUN_Project is a privacy system that enables shielded transfers and interactions with DeFi on Ethereum using zero-knowledge proofs. It shows how privacy can exist on open, public infrastructure without sacrificing decentralization.
Vitalik Buterin says @ethereum has sacrificed way too many core values—like decentralization, privacy, and financial self-sovereignty—just to chase mass adoption. He stresses that this has to end now. According to Vitalik, starting in 2026, Ethereum needs to zero in on reclaiming those lost values by: - Boosting private payments. - Making it easier to run nodes. - Building truly decentralized apps that don't rely on centralized servers. - Giving users better control over their data and assets. Ethereum also needs to be tough enough to last for decades, even centuries, without depending on the dev team, while pushing decentralized stablecoins so users aren't tied to the traditional financial system.
The upcoming @zama’s public auction is interesting because it is trying with a different primitive → sealed-bid Dutch auction (confidential bids) A tldr before their public auction tomorrow Sale mechanism • Your bid size and price stay confidential until the auction settles • This ensures no bot manipulation, people can bid their true willingness and a fairer distribution mechanic • Zama is also using their own confidentiality stack to run the auction (dogfooding their own product) Short recap of the tech: FHE + MPC + ZK • Compute on encrypted data (FHE), while keeping outcomes verifiable • Allows devs to write Solidity-style apps over encrypted state (fhEVM), offloads the heavy FHE compute to coprocessors, coordinates execution via a gateway, uses MPC-based threshold decryption so no one holds the key, and only uses ZK to prove encrypted inputs are valid Why this matters • Beyond their sealed-bid auction, the team could also work on confidential balances/transfers that stay composable (they’re pushing an ERC-style standard for confidential tokens) • Or even a compliant onchain payments/tokenized RWAs without exposing identity/positions to the entire internet So the auction is basically them starting with a PoC, then expanding into various use-cases. Trump n’a aucune limite. Son arme majeure : le numérique (Microsoft etc) et les systèmes de paiements (Mastercard, visa, Apple Pay…) Il peut tout couper. Il l’a déjà fait. Je demande solennellement à la Commission et aux gouvernements de travailler en urgence à un Plan B.
