We have a serious problem @elonmusk: I know FOR A FACT that I never followed the account @JohnMappin. To the best of my recollection, I never heard of, or ever interacted with that account until yesterday (ex. 1). Yesterday, I interacted with a post from @xAlphaWarriorx, when he posted “Patterns. Recognize them” in response to a post from the Mappin account saying “thanks for the follow” to @bennyjohnson (ex. 2). My quote post had nothing to do with the “Thanks for the Follow” post (ex 3). I have no idea if Benny actually followed that account, but now I am suspicious. Today, that same account tagged me saying “thanks for the follow”. I know FOR A FACT I never followed that account. And yet when I checked after that post, it seems my account was indeed following it. The reason I know FOR A FACT that I did not follow that account is because I clicked on the profile after seeing it being described as a “Scientologist” account, because I did not know that/if Benny Johnson was a Scientologist, and I was surprised. I know Benny is a religious Christian, but I did not think he was a Scientologist. Without commenting on Scientology in general, I know FOR A FACT that I did not follow that account, and I am now concerned that there is either something of a glitch, or something of a hack in an attempt to try and malign people through associations. Please look into this. It is widely confirmed that X does have a bug (or a feature… 😂) of causing accounts to follow other accounts without their knowledge or action (ex. 4). I choose my followers very carefully, and know who I choose to follow - and who I choose NOT to follow. This is very concerning, in terms of it being able to happen in general, and how it could be weaponized in an attempt to malign and delegitimize people through “guilt by association”. Thank you!
