it's not that i think Reinbacher is/will be bad. it's more that MTL had six rookie defencemen dress last year, five of them played at least 39 games, they may have struck gold on Hutson, but seem to be hoping Newhook and Slaf not only pan out, but both turn into high-end fwds

@CJTDevil I think his value has always been in transition. He can get the puck out and the puck in.

I feel like I need to watch him a little more closely, because he's been pretty consistently good at impacting shots/chances across several lines so either he must be doing something that's hard to see, or his usage/tendencies are able to consistently trick the models.

Tatar has the 6th highest xG impact in the NHL according to @EvolvingHockey RAPMs and the 2nd highest Corsi impact (behind Martinook). Having watched basically every minute he's played this season, I haven't the faintest idea how he's doing it. I see why he was undervalued lol.
