@DecayUnborn @theWellRedMage Vaan is the guy on the cover but if you can call any singular character in XII “the” protagonist I’d argue it’s Ashe. I love FFXII but Vaan is a very lame character. If you deleted him from the game, nothing would change to the overall goal of the party.

Today in RPG history... Square Enix released Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings for DS in JP on Apr 26, 2007. What a risk to do a mainline FF sequel, base it on the 2 of XII's dullest characters, and make it RTS but since nobody ever talks about it I'm sure the risk paid off, ya?

@AbdallahNATION It's incredibly good until the end of the original patch of Endwalker (6.0), after that I completely lost interest and it has never come back over the last 4.5 years. They have an extensive free trial, so there's no cost to trying it and see if you like it.

Classic FF fan here, but never played XIV. What’s the hype level on this? Newcomer friendly? Intrigued to give it a shot!

@_SpyDtroid_ Probably one of the more polarizing games in the series. Though I recognize it's the weakest of the PS1 era, I still love it.

What do y’all think about Final Fantasy 8? I’ve never seen anything of the game, but since this came out after FF7, I can’t imagine the shoes it had to fill 😭 For the past week I’ve been thinking for a little bit, but now i’m seriously curious about playing it soon.

@birifumi @FFVIINovels Ivalice has had precisely two (2) good games: OG FFTactics and Vagrant Story. All the others range from mediocre to actual trash.

@furiosadoshow The city soundtracks are sublime and gives so much personality to them. Fisherman's Horizon in particular is my favourite.
