@saiyanhajime Sonic Adventure's redesign is as close to Greg's as Greg's mohawk Sonic is from the original. You can see the inspiration,but it's an interpretation.Also,Adventure design is an evolution of the OG design,using some of Greg's pointers far superior from Greg's inferior one.

I do think it's quite ironic that those who parrot how SoA went against SoJ wishes and how important authorial intent is, conveniently dismiss the reality that Ohshima and Okano have literally told us they think US Sonic is cool and were inspired.

@Zer0Atom @LlennoxYt I think it’s good, but I agree that the repetition can be annoying. I never personally minded, but I see the gripe. I was just offering a solution to that problem if they ever remake the game. This is literally my favorite sonic game so I’m not bashing it.

My issue with Japanese purism from western Sonic fans is the insuffably annoying attitude surrounging authorial intent. That kind of argument is an informal fallacy. It's actually even worse, because Sonic's single author in their eyes is "Japanese people".

@saiyanhajime It was never about being Japanese or not. You have amazing artists that do justice to Sonic's design. It's official key art from the brand, so it's authentic. But no, it's not the original, sorry. It's a bad interpretation. In the 90s was whatever, we didn't know better.

@Zer0Atom Sometimes Chinese knockoffs are more appealing. Like I get it, you feel like it's just inherently worse. That's cool. Valid. But if it's only inherently worse because it's not Japanese, not authentic, not the original, etc. that's weird man.

@saiyanhajime You don't stop and check for a signature. It's nothing personal on you or the artist. It's such a bad adaptation that you don't need to "stop and check". It's blatant. Like a bad copycat. It's like one of those chinese knockoff you see in stores.

@Zer0Atom I don't value the aura of an original purely on the basis of it being the original. To me, that begs the question what do you even like about the thing, if all you care about is authenticity. Are you even appreciating the art if you have to stop and check for a signature?
