@PaulTassi Sony paid for a studio, had their expertise cancel TLOUF, recorded an impairment loss, did not see a good ROI on Marathon, closed D2 development down, wouldn't fund D3 and nothing is currently greenlit for production. What did they buy exactly?? It's not even just overpayment ATP

This is the whole thing about “blaming Marathon.” A game isn’t sentient, and it’s not its fans’ fault. Marathon’s role in this, timeline, budget, shifting resources is still, at its core, very clearly a leadership issue.
The problem is not that Marathon exists, it’s how it was badly mishandled to the point where now the entire studio is relying on it, a position it never should have been in

I, like many of you, am sad to hear it's the end of Destiny 2. However, DEC will continue to live on. I have no plans to shut the site down, but things may look different after Monument of Triumph launches since it'll be the end of D2 content updates. 💙

Destiny players aren’t going to just jump to Marathon now.
Marathons steam numbers fell below Destiny even in destiny’s lowest low, that’s a really bad sign.
I’m worried for Bungies future.
