@AVoiceAssistant @KryyssX As @KryyssX said “mayhaps.” Epic also once said they’d develop a BR season in UEFN in 2025… I suppose if Fortnite works with regular than UE then I guess I believe it but it feels a bit out still.

@KryyssX @ZeroYaHero They're going to do exactly this with UE6. You'll be able to select whether to publish your projects in Fortnite, as a standalone game, or both.

Unsure if a video is really necessary, but my thoughts are centered around this: Does Fortnite want "Islands", or do they want "Games"? If they want "Games", I think a more aggressive UEFN/Discover approach is warranted. Continuation of current strategy results in "Islands"

In over 5 years I haven’t felt this motivated to make a YouTube video. So many thoughts on this ecosystem. I am beginning to think that not voicing thoughts and concerns comes at a serious negative for us all (employees, creators, and players).

@KryyssX @AVoiceAssistant Hmm. Recent events make me think integration will happen *later.* Given the less man power and the way Fortnite is going. Though, I’d like it to be sooner. Probably true on the financial part…unless people don’t want Scene Graph or Verse (heard this a lot).

Recent events make me think that we'll see UE5 integration sooner though because building Verse integration with FN Devices has been problematic and is irrelevant to how Verse needs to function within UE itself. It's financially smarter to just develop it for UE alone.

@KryyssX IMO "Islands" relates to Fortnite having a shooter identity. "Islands" are simple derivative/playground like games. I think this identity is only a short-term challenge and not fundamental. The large client is def a big issue but I expect it to be their top prio this year.

@ZeroYaHero The problem is more fundamental than games vs. islands. As a UGC platform, Fortnite doesn't work for several reasons. Firstly, Fortnite has a shooter experience identity. Secondly, its playerbase are PvPers. Thirdly, it is a 100gb+ installation to play 100-400mb games.

@Richytoons This and more access to Unreal Engine's capabilities I think will win me over. A mixture of wanting to refactor the toolset and/or being afraid of what creators would do with more editor freedom and Fortnite's IP has restricted our ability to bring different experiences.

Epic has Unreal Engine at their tooltips, the issue is there is a lot areas they think they could do better. Understandable! Though, this costs time and effort. A lot of the problems UEFN faces could be solved with more access.

The argument to large updates is "instability" but IMO: Potential Possibility > Potential Instability Python release is a good example. Drop a whole thing at once, and It results in short-term instability, but you calibrate once, and have the ability to do a whole lot more.

@ZeroYaHero @TAYEDCN It is not. Only thing it may be generating is lighting data that does not exist. The models, textures, and materials remain the same. All that’s changing is how those things are reacting to the new lighting that DLSS is throwing at it and assuming where light needs to be.

@EndymionYT What a terrible take. It's just real light, nothing more and nothing less! Why doesn't anyone get that!? The character models are not altered by the AI. That's just how it looks when you add real lighting to video games.

@TAYEDCN Yeah even frame gen isn’t even truly gen ai. It’s just taking motion data from the engine and assuming a theoretical in-between of frames based on the locations of physical data in the game between the two. It’s not fabricating things out of thin air in these models.

IMO Epic could make this rule more robust by giving creators access to the same "sub-gamemode" menu they utilize for things like Battle Royale team size selection. I can only imagine having special cases like this will slow down enforcing this rule.

Using Verse Fields and the new Highlight events I made a demo of a "custom buttons." It is nice to have any # of styled buttons with textures on top. Though, because events are registered through Verse (server sided) the latency is quite noticeable. #UEFN #Verse

Verse UI button{} have now HighlightEvent and UnhighlightEvent in Experimental 🔥🔥 You can basically make custom buttons now like just use a material with a parameter so when its highlighted just set the parameter and it will update the button widget 🙌🏻 By : @LenkaAccount #UEFN #Verse
