@MamaCAllen I’ve never been told I’m going to hell. But I have been told by more Mormons than I can count on my fingers and toes that “you are of the devil.” Mormons are actually CONSUMED with believing everyone else is of the devil if others even question their religion.

I'm so glad I belong to a religion that spends zero time talking about how other churches are going to hell.

This guy is crazy interested in our faith. Defends us. Has explained details of our history with 98% accuracy on podcasts. Fascinating.

This is one of my favorite fallacies. The Galileo gambit. Switching a negative into a positive. Persecution or people leaving the church just ofcourse proves we are right or I’m not bothered about it because people persucsted Christ or left his church. By this logic every major cult out there could also be true and they could use the exact same defense. In fact Heavens Gate used it verbatim.

I don’t really believe it. But even if it was 99%, truth is truth. People crucified the Son of God, you don’t think people could also leave His true church?

Sorry, but nope. The Church began legal action to protect its IP against Mormon Stories MONTHS (Nov 2025) before the exmormon podcast did an episode on Wade Christofferson (Feb 2026). Implying a causal connection between these two is just not it.

Different metabolisms. I can eat ice cream and junk food for weeks and lose weight, drives my wife nuts however my body will feel horrible . Like another comment it’s called skinny fat and honestly I think it’s worse. You are super weak and can have a gut but way 160 pounds at 6’1. My brother who is 280 can at least lift stuff. The only way I can gain weight is following a relatively strict protein diet and working out 5 times a week.

@stackerco One of my other favorite debates to watch are Christians trying to decide which ones are in a cult then watching them realize they are also in a cult by the standards they presented.

Nothing is more pointless than watching different types of Christians debating who has better theology.

@Zez288 But leaving out that everyone has the opportunity to join is a massive piece of information that changes the entire situation. One is exclusive and exclusionary. The other is open and available to all. A huge difference.

This isn’t even close to being true. We believe literally EVERYONE will have the opportunity to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ, receive the saving ordinances of the temple, and either accept or reject what is offered to them. This is mischaracterization at its worst.
