Introducing Cocoon, the private ledger infrastructure for regulated institutions. Built on Zilkworm and Erigon Client, Cocoon bridges the gap between privacy, compliance, and verifiability: → Users authenticate via onchain enterprise identity → No wallets or crypto UX required → Regulators verify proofs → Protocol-level compliance enforcement Read the full announcement → erigon.tech/blog/introduci… #Zilkworm #EVM #Ethereum #RISCV #ZKVM

U.S. Treasury lifted sanctions on Tornado Cash. DOJ said it won't target mixers for end-user crimes. Treasury says lawful users may use mixers for privacy. Trump says war on crypto is over. So why are they still coming after @rstormsf? Watch what they do not what they say.
Roman Storm 🇺🇸 🌪️@rstormsf

Today, the SDNY prosecutors filed a letter to Judge Failla requesting a retrial date. They want to go again in October. The prosecutors want to retry me on 2 counts the jury couldn't unanimously decide on. A jury of 12 Americans heard 4 weeks of evidence and deadlocked: no verdict on money laundering, and no verdict on sanctions violations. The government's response? Try again to make writing code a crime. @realDonaldTrump declared the "War on Crypto is over." 🇺🇸 AG @DAGToddBlanche's memo: DOJ "is not a digital assets regulator" and won't target mixers for end-user acts. @USTreasury lifted Tornado Cash sanctions entirely. ✅ Also Treasury, March 2026: "Lawful users of digital assets may leverage mixers to enable financial privacy." — official report to Congress under the GENIUS Act. But the SDNY prosecutors — same country, same DOJ — just filed to retry me anyway. 🤔 ⠀ The 2 counts = up to 40 years in federal prison. ⛓️ For writing open-source code. For a protocol I don't control. For transactions I never touched. A jury already couldn't agree this was criminal. But the SDNY prosecutors want to keep trying with the hope of getting a different answer. ⠀ I have a daughter. I have a life in Seattle. I will never stop fighting for freedom. ❤️ But I need to be honest with you: Four weeks of trial. A hung jury. Now they want to do it all over again in October. I have basically exhausted my legal defense funds. And I'm staring down another full federal trial. 😔 Every dollar raised goes directly to keeping this fight alive — attorneys, experts, the full defense apparatus it takes to stand up to the SDNY prosecutors. This isn't abstract. If I can't fund a defense, they win by default. If you care about financial privacy, if you write code and believe that code is speech — this is the moment. 💻🔐 👇

The U.S. Treasury now admits that crypto mixers have legitimate privacy uses on public blockchains. So why are the Samourai Wallet developers sitting in jail? Free Samourai.

Zcash's shielded pool went from 11% to 30% of total supply in a single year. This is more growth than the previous eight years combined. Users are actively moving coins into the shielded pool and keeping them there. Shielded ZEC tends to be stickier, acting as a supply sink that removes coins from circulation. Three things changed in the last two years: the cryptography no longer requires any trust assumptions, mobile wallets actually work, and Near Intents gave users a non-custodial way to rotate into ZEC from any chain. In the last 30 days alone, ZEC has done $285M in volume on Near Intents versus $348M for BTC. That adoption is built on real cryptographic guarantees. The privacy is information-theoretically hidden. Sender, receiver, and amount are all encrypted in a way that makes transactions mathematically indistinguishable from one another. Every shielded transaction cryptographically proves no coins were counterfeited without revealing any transaction details. There's no information for a quantum computer to extract. The next phase is scaling. Orchard eliminated the trusted setup entirely and became the default shielded pool. Tachyon comes next, reworking how transactions are validated and batched to push throughput toward the levels needed for real economic activity. Now the privacy needs to work at scale.

blood in the streets but my man @simononchain with *the* zcash $zec report - the vision/core principles - the history - privacy<>integrity tradeoff - market traction/shielded pool network effects - encryption vs obfuscation - scaling (tachyon) - post-quantum - much much more

@nikzh @monero @Zcash @zano_project @PirateChain @litecoin good effort, but this is extremely inaccurate ring signature obfuscation is not logically or mathematically equivalent to an actually encrypted shielded pool so this is meaningless you also can't measure it via pure liquid size, you need to look at unspent notes etc...

While Cloudflare's centralized outage brings down major crypto front-ends, Erigon stands resilient. Our unique Bittorrent-based state distribution ensures true decentralization: Erigon nodes are downloading mainnet data at a solid 200 Mb/s from peers, completely ignoring failed webseeds (0 b/s). #erigon #Ethereum coindesk.com/business/2025/…

the most common answer used to be: because gov will ban zcash but now the entire industry (except btc) is moving towards minimum viable privacy. privacy is here to stay, so zcash is here to stay but even if gov bans it, with things like near-intents, gov would have to ban every other crypto in order to shut down zcash there is no longer any reason to buy bitcoin over zcash for the rational investor i am my own quant zillions
