The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi, along with the entire provincial cabinet, parliamentary leadership, members of National Assembly and members of the Punjab assembly was heading toward Adiala Jail to stand in solidarity with their leader, Imran Khan. For the past seven months, Imran Khan has been unlawfully subjected to solitary confinement in prison, isolated from his family, denied basic rights, and deliberately cut off from the people of Pakistan. For the last eight months, he has also been denied proper medical treatment despite repeated concerns regarding his health. These actions are not only inhumane, but a blatant violation of constitutional, legal, and fundamental human rights. After exhausting every democratic and legal avenue, we are left with no choice but to exercise our constitutional right to peaceful assembly in order to raise our voice against this illegitimate, stolen-mandate government and its continued political victimization of Pakistan’s most popular leader. Our gathering point was nearly one kilometer away from Adiala Jail. Yet despite this peaceful and lawful intention, the police moved to block Imran Khan’s family, the elected representatives of the people, the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, and the sitting Chief Minister immediately after they exited the motorway en route to Adiala through Rawalpindi. The blocking of an elected Chief Minister and his cabinet is not just an attack on one political party, it is an attack on democracy itself, an insult to the mandate of millions of Pakistanis.

This document lays bare America’s deep aversion to a leader like @ImranKhanPTI who dares to pursue an independent foreign policy, who dares to remain “aggressively neutral”, who dares to not surrender his country’s bases to an imperial power. But this is not only a story about America’s imperial overreach in countries that assert their sovereignty. It is also the story of Pakistani traitors and collaborators, who conspired with outside powers to oust a democratically elected leader and subverted the will of their own people. It is also the story of journalistic integrity in which persistent and principled journalists like @ryangrim and his colleagues at @theintercept and @DropSiteNews pursue and publish stories that mainstream media outlets fail to do. To every pro-democracy Pakistani-American reading this: please send this document to your congressional representatives and demand answers. Please renew your commitment to holding American policymakers accountable for enabling this kind of subversion of democracy.

Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi remain illegally imprisoned and are being subjected to systematic psychological and physical torture through unlawful isolation. For the past seven months, Imran Khan has been kept in solitary confinement. He has been denied access to his family, his personal doctors, and even basic human rights including books, which he has not been allowed for the last five months. At this moment, our primary demand is clear: Imran Khan must immediately be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for comprehensive medical examinations and proper treatment for his eye condition. Today, the 12th of May, CM Sohail Afridi, along with the entire KP Assembly, members of the Punjab Assembly, members of the National Assembly, and Senators from PTI, will come to Adiala Jail to stand in solidarity with their leader, Imran Khan. Their presence will highlight the issue both nationally and internationally, the ongoing mistreatment and psychological torture being inflicted upon Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. It is also intended to build pressure on this government (a government brought into power through stolen mandate from Imran Khan) to immediately transfer him to Shifa International Hospital without any further delay. PTI Leadership, NOW is the time when Imran Khan Needs You! The impact of hundreds of elected members (Senators, MNAs and MPAs) of KP and Punjab assemblies at Adiala will be huge. It WILL create the necessary pressure on this Govt (who is in power by stealing Imran Khan’s mandate) to get Imran Khan treated at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. It is an urgent and necessary pressure for Dogar court to take up Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s bail applications and set them FREE. Police usually arrests Imran Khan’s supporters; not the family or elected members. We appeal to Imran Khan’s supporters (who are not office holders) NOT to come to Adiala today.

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan is in solitary confinement since October 16, 2025. He has spoken to his sons only twice in 2025 and once in February 2026 after Supreme Court orders. He has been denied books to read. He has received only 3 of the dozen books that we managed to get to adiala through a judge. Then, a perfectly health and fit Imran Khan suddenly develops a clot in his eye. He was not provided medical assistance. For two weeks, he repeatedly told the jail superintendent that he CANNOT SEE. The Adiala Jail superintendent Ghafoor Anjum DELAYED calling in a specialist for three months. By the time the eye doctor came, the delay caused permanent damage to Imran Khan’s eye. We are extremely worried that his other eye could also develop a clot. Imran khan has repeatedly sent messages over past few months that he is not satisfied with the treatment and there is only marginal improvement after the first injection in the eye. No improvement since then. Over the past month, Bushra Bibi, his wife has also developed an eye condition and was operated upon last week. Imran khan and his wife are being tortured through solitary confinement. We have repeatedly protested, demanding Imran Khan to be examined and treated at Shifa International Islamabad. There is an urgent need to identify the cause of the blood clot. Our worry is that his other eye could also develop a clot unless proper diagnosis is done and it’s treated accordingly This is inhumane and a violation of all fundemental and human rights of a prisoner under Pakistan and International laws.

Imran Khan has been kept in solitary confinement for six months under brutal conditions, while Bushra Bibi is being held the same way. Their freedom is being deliberately blocked by the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, who refuses to fix their bail hearings. Imran Khan has made it clear that the judiciary is no longer independent, it is acting like a tool of the government. Judges assigned to his cases are not delivering justice; they are ensuring hearings never happen. The reality is simple: the moment this case is heard, its weak and baseless nature will be exposed, and bail will become unavoidable. That is exactly why it is being stalled. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi continued imprisonment is due to Judge Dogar, who is openly facilitating a government that came to power by stealing Imran Khan’s mandate. Through Salman Safdar, Imran Khan has sent a message, his wife is being pushed to the edge by prolonged isolation. He has said he can endure this ظلم himself, but she is being broken to force him into submission. The pressure is deliberate, calculated, and inhumane. He said clearly “no deal, no surrender! It is liberty or death.”
