From candy wrappers to climate change— published my first article on medium on why we need to teach the next generation environmental responsibility now. @ademolatayo251/catching-them-young-raising-the-next-generation-to-be-environmentally-conscious-and-responsible-a915ed9b40ab" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@ademolatayo25

Multiple times, I’ve seen pre-teens&teenagers (secondary school students) eat something in a public transport, then dump the wrapper either in the car, or out on the road. These are tomorrow’s adult, with no regard to their environment. Without….

I wish i was on Twitter during my undergraduate years. The information here quietly reshapes your mindset, pushes you to do better, and encourages you to get the best out of school.

Babies get raped. Elderly women get raped. Women dressed modestly get raped. Women in hijabs get raped. Nuns get raped. Women in jeans, tracksuits, pajamas, school uniforms, and work uniforms get raped. There is no outfit that prevents rape and no outfit that invites it. If you are more comfortable analyzing a woman’s clothing than condemning a rapist, you are part of the problem.

A List Of Things Always Worth Chasing Joy. Purpose. That inkling you could be doing something more with your life. Kindness. Compassion. A better tomorrow. Platonic soulmates. Places that remind you of home. The little things and the grand things, too. Burning desire. Ideas so crazily absurd they just might work. The bigger picture. Dreams. Connection with God. Your intuition. Good conversation. New perspectives. Mindset shifts. Accountability. Your north star. Yourself. Your work. Your art. Your family, chosen or otherwise. Something to believe in. Someone to fight for. Anything that makes you feel glad to exist right here, right now.

Shell and other companies usually include a “technical presentation" as part of the interview process. I had one the day before my Shell Recruitment Day. Presented to a bunch of folks from the Technical Safety Engineering team. One of the biggest scams in the corporate world is in that name – technical presentation – because I can assure you that the last thing they want is something technical. I have seen so many smart candidates fall for this. You think you impressed them. But the next thing you get is a rejection email. Because nobody is actually evaluating your technical skill. They are looking for something else entirely. (I wish they’d just be more honest about this.)🧵

This is me during my Shell Recruitment Day in November 2011. 1hr after the whole day group interview, I got the phone call I can never forget, “Congratulations, they all loved you. When can you start?” If you have an upcoming group interview where they put a bunch of you together in a room and give you a task to work on together, then sit up. I will tell you my secrets. I don’t need them anymore and it can help you land your dream job. They are what I used during my SRD. I have given the same playbook to many mentees who used them to land their dream jobs in various companies. So, trust me, this works. A 🧵

Blender - oxidation and heat (dull flavour) Cutting - preserves cell structure (intense and sharp heat) Mortar and pestle - crushes cells to release essential oils and utilizes the presence of biofilm for depth.

I just realized that pepper tastes different depending on how you cut it. If you cut it with your hand, it tastes different from using blender and that’s a different taste from using mortar to pound it.

For people that doesn't know what an excellent research proposal, SOP or personal statement looks like. I have attached two links below where you will find them. The website helped to improve my SOP back in the days of grad school application. I paid attention to the flow of ideas, contents and how to do the subtle brag. I have read counltess SOP written by prospective applicants mostly Nigerians. The students are always quick to mention their grade especially those ones with first class result. Information that is freely available in your CV and transcript. The SOP is the avenue provided to show your experience ranging from academic, project, research and skill. You could even share how you mastered playing an extremely difficult equipment or learn a difficult language, how you managed your dads company. These skills are valuable in the research word. So yeah, the link below contains the application document of NSF fellowship winners from the United States.
