The g@ng problem in El Salvador is a problem rooted in the historical oppression of our people. It is not that those in g@ngs are naturally or inherently violent and criminal - a view only eugenicist fa@cists/Z!0n!sts would make - but they are a product of a particular set of structures and the social-economic conditions these give rise to. It is those structures that we must look into dismantling for there to be long-term sustainable peace and stability. Bukele’s policies in that light are not successful or progressive - they are terrorizing and in the end will not resolve the root cause of the problem. His promotion of El Salvador as a outsourced prison for the US incarceration system is further proof that Bukele does not give a damn about our people, only his insatiable pockets.
