@rugbyexpansion Yeah it’s basically everything thats makes English sport good that doesn’t really exist anymore.

@_AlexBPsych Agree 100%, it’s a tough one. Some games are still good like Bristol vs Bath in the play offs last year and as you say last week. It’s been that slow erosion of jeopardy and structure I think. No cup, no relegation, more weeks without games all add up.

@RugbyInsideLine Lots of calls for a new coach, and that might be right, but who do you get ? Who's available of the top calibre and who would want it ? Everyone wants success but when was the last time Bristol won a senior cup or comp ? The players must take some responsibility for this.

🐻 Not sure where Bristol go from here. That was a game with the Playoffs on the line for them. A win for Exeter tonight and it is probably game over. How do you concede 94 points with that on the line? They were Lams to the slaughter.

@rugbyexpansion It’s hard to pinpoint what ‘it’ is that’s been lost. Maybe it’s the authenticity of it all, it just doesn’t feel like a serious competition anymore which is sad because when there is a good physical, passionate game (ie Tigers Saints last week), it still can be great.

@_AlexBPsych Yeh it really was a great league. You had fair better fluidity with fixtures, relegation battles and cup finals between clubs like Leeds and Bath in front of over 60,000 at Twickenham. It feels like it’s lost so much of it’s soul and identity.

@Alexarmstrong All it takes is a quick google to see that he’s ran multiple half and full marathons? Most 56 year olds would be chuffed with that ‘belly’? Such an odd put down.

@_AlexBPsych @RugbyInsideLine Can’t say I agree, been central to what Bristol do and all whilst watching every teammate go down with injury around him! Easily the best centre in the league, however he isn’t English…

@the_mel_jar Is there a dynamic obsessional - hysteric spectrum here too?? I feel like I can be one in one context and the other in another.

PS: obsessionals want to obtain the phallus. The phallus gets them everything they want and deserve from life. They never succeed. Hysterics want to be the phallus that the other wants. They want everyone after THEM. However, they do not go after what they want themselves.

Obsessionals DO tend to believe this. 😂 It’s not so easy having to learn to BE the phallus rather than sticking to wanting to OBTAIN the phallus. The great news is that there is a secret third way, which is to be an hysteric who is primarily motivated by phallic jouissance! 🥳

@leonidragozin I think (bizarrely) Trump can mitigate stuff before it gets too dangerous but if it carries on post 2028 then the outlook is interesting and not in a good way lol.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. There is a serious threat of another devastating escalation that might spill beyond Ukraine one way or another as the sides are squandering a very real chance to end the conflict before it gets much worse.

1/ Essential Ukraine #23 is out, sharing some conclusions from it (paywall). Bottom line: the specter of a larger war is becoming clearer to all: Ukraine cannot defeat Russia w/o NATO involvement, while Russia cannot impose victory w/o risking broader confrontation with Europe.

@AaronBastani Used to work in a MH hospital in St. Helens and the housing companies used to house all the ‘regular’ visitors with massive substance issues in the same flats in the same cul de sac in the town. Insane lack of proactivity.

On a road not far from us, which was a bustling commercial area before the war, you have several hundred people living in sheltered accommodation (on one road). Does anybody with a brain think that…helps them? Meanwhile businesses on road, which pay tax, get….rinsed.

“Many former guest houses had been turned into flats housing people with "complex drug, alcohol or mental health needs", while support services had been cut back”. Happening across south coast. These people are warehoused in sheltered accommodation & HMOs - with no actual plan.

@noogie60 @nik0p0l5 @BlueCheese608 Legit! He had a once in a generation opportunity to change the economic future of the UK for the long term and he bottled it because he was scared of next weeks opinion poll, when he was screwed regardless.

@_AlexBPsych @nik0p0l5 @BlueCheese608 TBH if was going after the OAPs, he should have gone big and went for ending the triple lock. Crash through or crash. Then at least if he did crash, future generations would at least respect him for trying.

Why is Carney in Canada successful and popular while Starmer in UK is a failure and toxic? Both of them are leaders of the center-left in Anglo countries in Trump’s crosshairs.

@nik0p0l5 @BlueCheese608 Which absolutely needed doing by the way! But our population is lop-sided towards this generation that also happen to be the most politically active, so spiting them cuts off your nose. He should’ve just done it and took the L, it’s not worked out regardless.
