I honestly don't think there's anything Bungie/Sony can do to get the interest of new players, not because the game is bad, but because the way they treated the Destiny community. The trust and respect Bungie had from Halo to Destiny doesn't even come close from Destiny to Marathon. Should have kept the trust, shouldn't have been greedy, shouldn't have stolen Art to begin with, should have released at the 2024 timeline post Final Shape, should have anounced a D3. Had they done all that, both franchises imo would be booming.

@casualblu3 What people are ignoring to hate blindly (because there’s no way to have nuanced conversations with Reddit users) is that people who want the PvE will bleed into PvP because they’ll feel like they’re kitted enough to actually run it. Marathon is cooking and haters will seethe

I can see the game eventually settling into a massive loop where the PvE and PvPvE modes constantly feed into each other. Running the Vault Breaker style mode across all the maps to extract gear and specific contract items. The gear & contract items then are used to complete contracts in the current PvPvE mode, which reward items that make the PvE easier or let you push deeper into the Vaults / whatever is in the pve modes, which keys you do further PvPvE contracts... This whole cycle would eventually culminate in that Cryo style hardcore PvPvE endgame.
