@j26126 @ScotIrish12 @CatahoulaCowboy @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Acts 100% in error.
The Bible (whichever one you have)
Is just as prone to error as the humans that wrote it.
That's why sola scriptura is stupid
English

@ScotIrish12 @CatahoulaCowboy @_BikiniBottoms @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach He said Acts was as seriously in error as the apocryphal text.
After Protestants have been busting a guy recently promoting the uncanny historical reliability of Luke-Acts.
Well done Jesuitsโฆ
English

@wow9trillion @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach I'm showing you Acts makes a statement that's factually incorrect.
Jacob was not buried in shechem. Abraham did not buy a tomb in shechem.
Chronology has nothing to do with it
English

@_BikiniBottoms @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Aww heโs showing his ignorance of chronology. If you donโt seek you wonโt find.

@j26126 @CatahoulaCowboy @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach I agree. It's a terrible form of argument. That's why OP should not have used it lol
English

@CatahoulaCowboy @_BikiniBottoms @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach By saying Luke-Acts is error prone to the same degree. You canโt deny it, it is basis of your claim.
Even if we concede you are right, that is a terrible form of argument.
The Jesuits were the fathers of modern Scepticism.
English

@taco_sentient @Pastor_Gabe @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach I didn't ignore refutation. The scripture is wrong..
English

@_BikiniBottoms @Pastor_Gabe @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach so just ignore the refutation to your claim of scripture being wrong , got it.
English

@j26126 @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach I'm not Catholic.
I'm just applying op's logic. You see a mistake, it can't be scripture.
English

@_BikiniBottoms @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Only a Catholic could start pointing out errors in Scripture trying to defend the Churchโฆ
โSee, Scriptureโs a mess! Thatโs why you need the Papacyโ - Every Jesuit since the 16th century.
English

@Pastor_Gabe @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Acts is wrong.
It says "he [Jacob] AND our fathers" were laid in Shechem. And that's just not true
And nothing says Abraham bought that tomb in Shechem. You're making that up.
English

@_BikiniBottoms @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach The nearest antecedent is Jacob's sons, "our fathers." Joseph personally buried Jacob in Machpelah, and Joseph's brothers went with him, then they all returned to Egypt (Gen. 50:13-14). Joseph and his brothers were buried in Shechem, the tomb Abraham bought and Jacob reacquired.
English

@Ron172892111531 @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Josephs brothers are not buried with him in Shechem. Nor did Abraham buy the tomb there as Acts claims.
We have the tomb of the patriarchs where Jacob, and supposedly the other sons, were buried. In Hebron.

English

@_BikiniBottoms @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Where's the OT reference for the burial location of Joseph and his brothers' bones. All I seem to have found is that Moses carried them out of Egypt.
English

@_BikiniBottoms @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Where does Acts say Jacob was buried in Shechem?
English

@Pastor_Gabe @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Genesis /archeology: Jacob was buried in Hebron. In a cave Abraham bought
Joshua: JOSEPH was buried in Shechem in a tomb Jacob bought
Acts: Jacob was buried in Schechem but in a tomb Abraham bought
They contradict. Acts is wrong
English

@_BikiniBottoms @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach Genesis 50:13 is about where Jacob specifically was buried. Acts 7:15 is where his sons the patriarchs were buried (see Joshua 24:32).
Abraham originally purchased that plot of land when he passed through Shechem (Gen. 12:6), and Jacob reacquired it (Gen. 33:19).
English

@Ron172892111531 @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach We have the tomb of the patriarchs in Hebron. Jacob and his sons, minus Joseph, are not buried in Schechem.
Nor did Abraham buy the sepulcher in Shechem.
Acts is wrong
English

@_BikiniBottoms @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach I think you are conflating the burial of a solitary individual, namely Jacob, and the burial of Jacob's sons including Joseph. The latter would be carried out of Egypt hundreds of years later, it was according to his wishes as per Gen 50:25
English

@Pastor_Gabe @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach He got the burial location wrong and the person it was purchased from wrong.
English

@LexRexEst @_BikiniBottoms @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach He doesnโt understand grammar or chronology so thinks he found an error in the Bible.
The wildest part is he takes this wrong assumption and uses it to encourage the acceptance of (from his perspective) MORE errors.
English

@_BikiniBottoms @LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach No it isnโt.
This story is clearly in Genesis and Joshua, and archeologists havenโt contradicted this.
English

@LexRexEst @WWUTTcom @LizzieMarbach It's a major mistake. Contradicts Genesis, Jeremiah, and just history/ archeology in general
