To make NFTs great again, we need to simplify onboarding for Web2 users. That starts with moving away from the term “NFTs” and leaning more into “digital assets.” If you look at how @PaniniAmerica & @Courtyard_io onboard Web2 audiences, it’s clear the market is still massive and there’s huge crossover potential. Maybe OpenSea should return to a simpler structure: OS Basic and OS Pro. With OS Basic, users could create an account as easily as entering an email address, purchase digital assets directly with debit/credit cards, and have their assets securely managed “on platform”. Then, for users ready to explore deeper Web3 functionality, assets could be bridged to external wallets through OS Pro. For the basic experience, only vetted collections should be tradable, with projects required to go through an approval process before listing. That adds a layer of trust and protection for newer users. At the end of the day, it’s all about streamlining the experience for “non” Web3 users and adopting systems that feel familiar to Web2 communities.

Luca owns CollectiblesMarketCapdotcom. The plan is to put NFTs and market comparisons in front of the currently booming Web2 collectibles buyer audience when they're checking prices. 2.
