@African1ne Only an indoctrinated idiot believes millions of Africans were kidnapped from Africa & sprinkled across the globe like pepper by the worlds minority. Sounds even dumber reading it back to myself 😂 More AMERICANS were taken from here than ANY amount of ppl "imported"

@JerryHall666 Idiotic. These companies choose FOREIGNERS because 1. Dont have to pay them as much, 2. Its not their history, 3. Their ENERGY is not the same as so called black Americans, 4. Erasure!

@zoomafrika1 If you're searching for a black female to play a slave, then, you have to find a black actress to fill the part. They didn't offer those roles to other actors, they offered them to Lupita because they were so mesmerized by her that they knew she could do a great job.

After her Oscar win for 12 Years a Slave in 2014, Lupita Nyong'o revealed that she was mostly offered roles depicting enslaved or suffering Black women, often being sent scripts to play slave characters repeatedly. Despite expectations that her opportunities would expand, the roles she was offered continued to box her into stereotypical portrayals tied to slavery and pain. She believes this pattern was influenced by racism and colorism within the industry. Nyong'o refused to accept such reductive roles, even if it meant fewer jobs, as she did not want to perpetuate damaging stereotypes about African women.

@Heal_within96 Leave BW alone. BM already criticize and mistreat us enough - why would u, as a BW, want to add to the adversity we already face from both the world and our own men? U should be ashamed to speak like that. Those women are simply going where they feel appreciated and celebrated.

Only 252,000 slaves arrived to the USA during the slave trade. Why are Black Americans the main topic when it comes to the Slave Trade Conversation? Why don’t they make movies/documentaries about Brazilians or whoever experiencing slavery more often?

Africans cannot culturally appropriate box-braids, dreadlocks, cornrows, bantu-knots, twists, afros, hoop earrings/jewelry, bonnets, head wraps, or even grillz. I said what I said, we cannot 'appropriate' any of these things.

@_CDRC_ @dijoni Pan-Africanism evolved as a collective global movement. Pioneered by 19th-century intellectuals in the African diaspora and institutionalized as a political ideology in the 20th century by key figures like Henry Sylvester Williams, W.E.B. Du Bois, and Marcus Garvey.
