@Lordmatteus2312 As you know, a group approached me to run a paid 5e game for $200-$250 a session. It all came down to locking down my schedule & commitment. 4 years going, it fully subsidizes my hobby investments into my charitable FLGS/Convention/home Shadowdark games. Worth the scrutiny.

🤔 I don't charge my players per se. However, when their characters are dangling above a spiked pit, about to have their head cleaved by an ork's battle ax, immolated by dragon fire, etc., I'll let them know that every $100 gives them a reduction in damage and/or another saving throw.

So here's a hot take: There are three kinds of players, 1. Those who pay GMs 2. Those who don't pay GMs, and never would, but don't care if you do. 3. Those who hate paid GMs largely because they're entitled twits no one wanted at their table to start with who gamed for years only on the largesse of tables that needed to fill a seat. Now they struggle to find free seats from which to piss off other players. Long and short, there is literally no good argument against the existence of paid GMs.
