Fans, let’s not forget that behind every player, coach, and staff member is a real person with a life beyond the game. They have families, responsibilities, and emotions just like the rest of us. Stats don’t define their worth. Wins and losses don’t define who they are. Mental health matters in sports.

I love this, Lauren, thank you so much for sharing!💙 Mental health is something that truly needs more attention in collegiate athletics. I’ve been really intentional about finding ways to create safe spaces for my athletes, where they feel comfortable opening up and talking through their struggles. It’s so important that they know they’re supported beyond just their athletic performance.

I want to be open about my struggle with depression. I’m in a much better place now, but I hope this helps anyone else who is going through the same thing. 🩵 @PlayersTribune theplayerstribune.com/lauren-betts-n…

When academics are emphasized as one of the key components of an athletic program, academic eligibility issues are less likely to arise. Coaches who proactively reinforce expectations, such as ensuring student-athletes complete grade checks, attend tutoring, and communicate with professors, help identify concerns early so there are no surprises or last-minute panic regarding academic eligibility. These are the programs that tend to see the most academic success and better prepare student-athletes for life after sports.

Parents‼️‼️Please take notes as summer ball is starting. 📝 It DOES matter who your child plays WITH and FOR.

CONCEPTUALLY THINKING BASKETBALL AAU basketball has become the central exposure engine for elite girls prospects across the United States. More than a collection of tournaments, the circuit system now functions as a national evaluation marketplace where competition level, recruiting visibility, and development infrastructure intersect. For college programs, these events compress scouting into a few high-density environments where prospects can be evaluated against other high-level players in real time. At the top of the ecosystem, Tier I circuits operate as the sport’s exposure center. Platforms such as Nike EYBL, Adidas 3SSB, Under Armour UAA, and major independent showcases like Power 24 and Select 40 attract the largest concentration of Division I coaching staffs and national evaluators. Because the talent pool is dense and the games carry recruiting implications, performance in these settings often becomes a powerful signal within the recruiting market. Tier II circuits remain important competitive pathways, offering meaningful evaluation opportunities across events like EYCL, Puma NXT Pro, Made Hoops, Prep Girls Hoops, and NE2K. These platforms expand the national map and help surface prospects outside the traditional shoe circuits. In modern recruiting, circuit placement doesn’t determine talent—but it can shape the visibility that allows talent to be discovered. #OWUEvalDay #ConceptuallyThinking #BuiltDifferent #PlayerTrustNetwork #ScoutingTruths [@PGHBrooks ] [@NXTPROG] [@JrAllStarBB] [] [@IGBRcoverage [@WorldExposureWB] [@_BlakeDerrick] [@WKGameBall] [@EconAdjunct] [@FiveStateHoops] [@OWUTALENT ][@PGHiowa ] [@JrAllStariowa ]

Sports make a great game - but a terrible God. Listen carefully if you’re an athlete… One day the season will end. One day the career will end. One day the applause will stop. If your identity is in the game, you’ll feel lost when the game is gone. But if your identity is in God, the game simply becomes a platform. Sports are meant to be played. They were never meant to be worshipped. Train hard. Compete with excellence. Honor God with your effort. But never forget: Your purpose is bigger than your performance. “You shall have no other gods before me.” {Exodus 20:3}

You are an incredible coach, and I truly appreciate you. ❤️ A few years ago, when I was still a high school coach, you took the time to give me genuine and sound advice about advancing my career into college athletics. Your honesty and willingness to be a guiding voice meant so much to me. Sending love and prayers your way as you step into your next journey.
