GHSA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AAAAAA Final: @WheelerHoops - 62 Pebblebrook - 52 Wheeler edges out a very hard fought victory to become the 2026 GHSA 6A State Champions. It was a back and forth game for most of the game with both teams going in mini runs. @UConnMBB-commit Colben Landrew was the best player on the floor, notching 29pts and earning MVP honors for his performance. He scored at will in the paint, showed off his range and was the emotional leader tonight for the Wildcats. Unsigned 2026 Lamarrion Lewis played a crucial role in the victory, going 3-3 from behind the arc and finishing with 11p in the game. @ClemsonMBB-commit Amare James added 11p scoring timely baskets when the Wildcats needed them most.

As the third quarter got underway, the atmosphere inside the arena reached another level with both the Falcons and Wildcats fan bases bringing incredible energy. Both teams began trading punches, and with 4:37 remaining in the quarter, the Pebblebrook Falcons @PBrookhoops had cut the deficit to just four points, 36-32, putting serious pressure on Wheeler Wildcats @WheelerHoops . After a few key timeouts, the Wildcats responded with their firepower, continuing to trade blows but maintaining control of the flow of the game. Wheeler stayed composed and held onto the momentum as the quarter wound down. At the end of the third quarter, the Wheeler Wildcats lead Pebblebrook 44-37, setting up an intense final eight minutes to decide the GHSA State Championship. 🏀🏆 @northgareport @_CoachShep_

What a way to close out the GHSA State Championship weekend. As the fourth quarter began, the Wheeler Wildcats @WheelerHoops came out on fire, opening the quarter with a 5-2 run that had their bench and crowd on their feet, sensing another championship within reach. After the media timeout, both teams traded baskets, but Wheeler continued to hold the lead, which made it difficult for Pebblebrook as they desperately needed stops to mount a comeback. In the end, the Falcons had dug too big of a hole, and the Wildcats never let the momentum slip away. Wheeler stayed composed, controlled the tempo, and closed out the game to capture back to back state championships. Leading the charge was Colben Landrew @colben_landrew, who delivered a championship performance in the final game of his high school career. Landrew finished with 29 points, 12 rebounds, shooting an efficient 10 for 14 from the field and a perfect 7 for 7 from the free throw line, securing a dominant double double.
