@john_l33 @Scottwilsonecho Current form can extend to England and club performances. Reputation should mean something, I’m not saying it’s not a factor. But your original post acted like it’s never been a problem about just picking big names, forcing square pegs in round holes. It has been for a while.

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho I would put it like this: a venn diagram where reputation is a bigger circle than form, but form is completely encompassed within reputation. No form without reputation. Could you explain your opinion yet, or are you sticking with "on current form" as your only input?

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 The call around #England for ages has been 'Stop picking players on reputation', 'Stop playing people out of position just to get them in the team', 'Stop obsessing about the 'big' clubs'. Tuchel has delivered on that. Will it work? Who knows? But he's stuck to his guns...

@john_l33 @Scottwilsonecho You won’t listen, you have proven that. I have said it’s not the whole as you keep insisting it’s part of it. I have agreed with that for the sake of this, but you seem incapable of accepting that even if they are related, they are not the same.

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho You haven't explained how form can possibly be disconnected from reputation. Reputation is how people see you. Nothing else. It doesn't matter if it's last week or last century. Form is reputation. Tell me how its not and I’ll listen.

@john_l33 @Scottwilsonecho I have tried explaining but you’re insistent on form not being independent to reputation. So if you instantly dismiss that, what is the point?

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho Possibly because you haven't actually made a point except "choose on form". I think you're out of your depth.

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho I understand completely. You have a bad definition for reputation. You think it means "used to be good but isn't now". You're beginning your argument from a fundamental flaw.

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho You can't argue for picking on form over reputation if you accept that form is part of reputation. And the club you play for is included (takes account of opposition, pressure etc). These all link and fall under the definition of reputation, which is the only way to pick a squad.

@john_l33 @Scottwilsonecho Again proving my point. Your original statement was idiotic, your faux alternatives are idiotic and now you still can’t seem to understand form. Even if it is part of reputation to you, it’s still different.

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho You have said nothing of the sort. Form is what, 3 games, 5 games? It's semantics. Form is one of the criteria included in reputation, not separate from it. You don't pick any player based on any one of these variables, you weigh them up and that is what creates their reputation.

@john_l33 @Scottwilsonecho Are you stuck on repeat? I have told you before, until you can understand form, it’s pointless.

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho Reputation is the current collective judgment about reliability, quality, character, or ability, based on evidence. Reputation is dynamic and includes, not ignores, recent form.If you have a better way of picking a squad, I'd like to hear it.

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho And what point is that? Picking on reputation is literally the only way to choose the squad. And players at bigger, better clubs will be favoured because, not only are they better players, they have experienced high-pressure games. Explain the alternative and I'll listen.

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho Also, current form playing for whom? There's a kid had a great game in the 17th league. Or does it maybe matter which club that form is with?

@_ConBicks @Scottwilsonecho I'll ask the question again - how do you pick a team not based on reputation (aka what they have done), nor what team they play for (aka level reached)? Shoe size maybe? Favourite Quality Street?

@john_l33 @Scottwilsonecho People have been saying this for years haha, it was literally the biggest criticism of the last tournament that players were out of position

@Scottwilsonecho Your punctuation suggests that somebody ever said these things. They didn’t. And how can you not pick on reputation anyway? Don't the big clubs generally have the best players? Are you suggesting the England squad should be drawn from a tombola? Actually...

@JohnLocke4530 @TAFKASB You’ve just said the same thing. A u turn is not necessarily wrong, things change. Mandelson was bad I agree.

@_ConBicks @TAFKASB Do you disagree with any of the complaints? He's weak and has u-turned over major policies such as PIP reform and fuel bills. He is dour, he doesn't inspire. Bad decisions and deceit, such as everything about Mandelson. Am i wrong?!

What exactly has Starmer done that is anywhere near as bad as what the fucking Tories did for 14 years? That is a serious question. What have I missed?

@TAFKASB He's terrible- it's the weakness, the u-turns, the drabness, the far right obsession, the bad decisions. But responding to your query about the Tories - May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak were all pilloried by the media and attacked by political opponents and their own back benchers.
