The Japanese realized decades ago if you want people to actually care about the sci-fi space war story you're marketing to them you need to make it feel as genuine, real & lived in as possible so people have an incredibly easy and fun time immersing themselves into the world.

I love the dead or alive and guilty gear series, it's just a shame that the FGC is so fucking lame now and full of fetuses and larpers. Fighting Game players used to play with awful internet on the original Xbox and now they can't even handle a single frame delay without crying.

Also the fact that DoA has had some mediocre games and DoA6 Last Round launched in an abysmal state is making me worry a lot for DoA7. Guilty Gear Strive launched to widespread popularity and acclaim but was by far the worst game in the series and now GG is just filled with larp.
