@Quis_Ut_Deus_72 @Minty_Robot @suchnerve You can say the same about ICE vehicles. People living paycheck to paycheck aren't prepared to spend $1000 when they get an oil leak and have to replace the cooler housing. Going EV has higher upfront costs but TCO is proven to be cheaper in the long run.

Well you don’t know everybody’s situation. Most people are living paycheck to paycheck and using credit cards to make ends meet. Which is a cycle of diminishing results that eventually will end in bankruptcy. Then you have people like me whose home is entirely electric. And that wasn’t by my choice. My home is over 100 years old and poorly insulated. So my electric bill is barely reasonable during warm months. But in winter my electric bill more than doubles. And that’s with running kerosene heaters on the coldest days. People in my situation can’t take on another car payment and can’t be adding to the electric bill. We’re strapped. Barely hanging on. And all that while having kids to raise, keep fed and clothed. The push to force everybody into battery powered cars is not only unrealistic it’s cruel and malicious.

Electric cars not needing oil changes is one of the selling points that’s about to get wayyyyyyyyy more attention
