Given that reality, it should surprise NO ONE the US was reluctant to return control to D when they couldn't even defend themselves

The US gave Greenland back to Denmark after the war. Denmark pledged $224M to defend it and spent about 1%.
They called us to protect it, we did, and now asking them to honor their agreement is somehow offensive?
It's not imperialism. It's basic accountability.
