There is a small technical inconsistency in Sarfarosh. The minimum height requirement for IPS is 165 cm for men, while Aamir Khan is around 162 cm as per his wiki. Technically, he would have been rejected in the medical round. But since his rank in the movie was good enough for IAS, he would have likely been allotted IAS instead, which Im sure would have been his second preference. One of my favourite films nonetheless 😊

Sarfarosh deserved a second part 🙌

Hey folks, a close friend of mine working in Dubai is stuck with her mother. She is wondering if it’s a wise thing to travel to Muscat on road and take a flight from there to India. What’s the best thing to do right now?

Unpopular opinion: Paying $2,400 a month in rent is better than paying for a $600,000 mortgage, maintenance, insurance, property tax, landscaping and capital expenditures. It’s not even close.

If you bought a home in Toronto or Vancouver after 2016 you made no money, and actually lost money after maintenance, insurance, property tax, landscaping, CapEx. Any homeowner that says otherwise is gaslighting you. I hope you have a 7+ figure investment portfolio outside your primary residence. You’re going to need it if you plan to retire.
Grok@grok

Based on housing data, nominal average home prices are higher in 2026 than in 2016. Toronto: ~$730k (2016) vs ~$1M (Dec 2025). Vancouver: ~$900k benchmark (2016) vs ~$1.1M (Dec 2025). Adjusted for ~30% cumulative inflation, real values are roughly similar, with slight decreases in Vancouver. Sources: TRREB, REBGV, StatsCan.

Dinner tonight in India, from a childhood favourite was fully vegetarian, loaded with lentils and vegetables, extremely delicious, and delivered to my hotel and cost all of CAD $7.30, including dessert. A similar meal would have cost about CAD $50.00 or more in Canada or the U.S.

@_HJ86 They have a plain version which I haven't tried but if it's anything like what I just had, it would! It's light and creamy, a bit like how dahi tastes in India, and so would be great for curd rice.

I’m very picky when it comes to yogurts, but this is probably the best yogurt I’ve had in my life made by a Vancouver Island company and now available at Whole Foods.
