What’s unacceptable is Trump blundering into a war that we’ve lost. Rubio admits Iran will control the SoH after the US leaves. The mountain of fuck-ups in this ill planned war are the consequences of allowing Trump to stay in office w/ advancing dementia.

@William99754232 @aobrienfansite Classic example was a Boughey horse a few seasons back that won a dozen lenghts on debut and was given one highest pre Royal Ascot timeform ratings ever (109) but by end of year was 90 officially after some poor runs and didnt run at 3.

@William99754232 @aobrienfansite Early season 2yo form should not be trusted as true guide as can be more often about precocity rather than ability. WFA allowance is huge at that time so a horse well ahead of the maturity curve could easily be 20lbs highly rated by time things even at 3.

My thoughts on Albert Einstein, for those interested. The ground clearly didn’t help, but for me, he’s never really looked like a natural sprinter to me he actually made progress late on. Let’s be honest—keenness has been an issue, and that’s part of the reason he was here today. My granddad used to say, “Trust the formbook, not the hype.” There’s been a huge amount of talk about this horse—maybe too much talk without enough substance to fully support it. We all want to see the next superstar, we all dream of it—but today felt like one of those moments where the bubble bursts a little. That said, there’s no doubt he can improve from here. The question is when—and over what trip. Personally, I always felt Gstaad had the stronger form in the book and was the one to beat for the Newmarket Guineas. In hindsight, that view looks even more solid now. Onwards and upwards.

@gold123win @racingblogger @RacingTV @RealHumptyB @earlthedyer Surprised he was asked to run against older horses on that ground. The Curragh is usually deep early in the season even in a normal year and if it is starting to dry it will be like glue and very difficult for a 3yo off the course for nearly a year against strong old horses.

@RacingPost @DavidJenningsRP Take the 'free shots' out of Triumph by confining to winners over hurdles? Alternatively for it & all novice races only allow horses run once at the festival by the second time around they will be good enough for a championship race or had their qualifying runs for a handicap?

Racing Post@RacingPost·
.@DavidJenningsRP on the race schedule: "Having the Fred Winter, Ultima, Plate and National Hunt Chase all wrapped around the Champion Hurdle didn't really work for me. There is too much mediocrity surrounding the main event. "Switching the Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase back to Tuesday, where it was originally placed, and moving the Plate to Thursday would be a start. It would add a smidgen more quality to the opening day without making wholesale changes. "The other thing I would do is swap the Grand Annual and National Hunt Chase around. The Ultima and National Hunt Chase are too similar to have on the same day, so move the final race on Tuesday to the penultimate event on Wednesday"

@NHLenNH @MWeaver72139842 @MCYeeehaaa Exactly couldnt give away fillies in the past and many of best bred went to stud without ever having a saddle put on them now 2 made 400k last night because of the likes of this race and big owners aspiring to have top race mares

@MWeaver72139842 @MCYeeehaaa Listen to that ATR clip, He said giving G1 status to Wodhooh, and the other winners of the race was undeserved and was actually bad for the breed, that is hysterical. The big owners are sourcing these mares as a direct result of its existence.

Let no-one say that Wodhooh doesn't deserve to be a Grade One winner, 10 wins from 11, only defeat a battling second to the great Lossiemouth. @MCYeeehaaa

@OConn67 @RacingTV Could well do because he made clear the issue was rough patch of faster ground coming down the hill which they didnt want to chance a big chasing type on. Aintree is flatter course which hasnt been raced on for 4 months so shouldnt have the same problem.

@tony_calvin I mean Mullins won a county with State Man, a Martin Pipe with Galopin , failed by a head to win a free winter with Gaelic. Genuine multiple grade 1 winners. I have more of an issue with this than giving a “decent” horse a handicap day in the sun.

Genuinely interested to see how the winning handicap gambles are received by punters on here, as it doesn't seem to bother those in print/TV. Punters may well love them, too. May put up a couple of polls if any appetite in finding out. If I do, please help them along with RTs.

@_i_am_jonny_boy @Amykins_1 Aintree is a flat course so less stress on horses' legs. JP referenced that it was coming down the hill that was the area that concerned him for FOF.

@Amykins_1 Been scratching my head with this all day. A trainer who’s had multiple winners at the Aintree Festival over the years when it’s sweltering hot. It’s like they have an expectance that you have to do all you can to favour their runners

@Ryan_Jackson15 @itvracing Sounds like a session of the weighroom court was convened with Mr Rudsell in thdechair. They like these matters to be sorted behind closed doors and hauled the two boys over the coals for the matter going public and this performance was the sentence passed!

So basically we started a war with a country that can single-handedly fuck the entire world’s oil supply any time they want because of geography and we had no plan for if that happened? Is this correct?

@sbatte17 @AtTheRaces For 20 plus runners would need maybe 30 yards of a frame which would be too heavy for a golf cart. The problem is the configuration of the course and positions of the starts they are ridiculous for competitive races nearly all on a bend.

@sbatte17 @AtTheRaces Looking at the ryanair start the first fence comes up quickly and there is a hurdle alongside the first fence not be simple for a vehicle with a 25 or 30yds frame on the back to pull off the course? Never mind the issues with heavy ground.

@AtTheRaces Too many starts are on a bend with a hurdle or chase coming up quickly. The course configuration is the major issue not the starter given the pressure the jockeys are under to get a flyer.

@tedkel @DavidJenningsRP Is back where is all for all other meetings and used to be for the festival. Ruby Walsh said was only moved to reduce run in when the number of strikes came in. So was moved to avoid adverse publicity at festival from suspensions not for good operational reasons?

@abbodabbo @nickluck @RacingPost NH left in no win situation. Media perhaps should have said this is one of the greatest trainers ever who will make the right decision for the horse and support him instead of we know best and laying an 'i told you so' trap for him in the event of what nobody wanted to happen.

@_James_Meehan @nickluck @RacingPost it's bullshit. It's like saying Anthony Joshua shouldn't box anymore. It should be nothing to do with "how it looks" and "the bigger picture" but solely about what's the best choice for that individual participant

@abbodabbo @nickluck @RacingPost My worry is where does it stop. If not safe for a 175 horse with some falls to race over hurdles, is it safe for a 150 horse or a 130 horse? If that was their point fine but it wasnt, it was this horse might hit the national papers & end nh racing.

@_James_Meehan @nickluck @RacingPost Poor that. I think the "look at the optics for the bigger picture" is bullshit & overestimates the antis & is off the mark with the general publics acceptance that horses (and dogs) love to race & jump & there is risk in it. The public that matter love jump racing
