The Connectivity Standards Alliance has officially released Aliro 1.0, an open standard designed to bring a digital key experience similar to Apple Home Key across platforms. Aliro enables secure access credentials using UWB, NFC, and BLE, allowing users to unlock doors with their phone or digital wallet across multiple ecosystems, not just one.T his is a major step toward solving one of the smart home industry’s biggest challenges: fragmentation. A single interoperability standard means simpler integrations and broader adoption across homes, apartments, offices, and more. The Aqara U400 Smart Lock, the first smart lock to launch with Ultra Wideband (UWB) support, is Aliro-ready and expected to receive support through a future update. Today, Apple users can already unlock with UWB via Apple Home Key, and Aliro will help expand similar digital key experiences to a much wider ecosystem. As standards like Matter and Aliro continue to evolve, the future of access control is clearly moving toward secure, wallet-based digital keys that work everywhere! appleinsider.com/articles/26/02…
