Has anyone seen an issue with FILESTREAM access level runtime value reverting back to 0 after a reboot? This seems to be happening randomly in both 2014 and 2016. #sqlhelp
@SQLHA@jdanton@sqlkfarlee Right now, no performance issues. I had seen our secondary replica get pretty far behind when transactional loads were high and index maintenance was occurring but stayed within acceptable limits. Just started looking at it and noticed the lack of compression. #sqlhelp
@jdanton@_KenWilson@sqlkfarlee I agree that is what it should be and how it's documented. Are your AGs active (i.e. super busy)? I guess the bigger question here is no matter what you are seeing, are you having poor perf?
I have a Availability Group with 2016 FCI and and a 2016 async secondary replica. According to Microsoft docs the log stream compressed by default for async replicas but I’m not seeing any compression. Trace 1462 is not on. Thoughts? #sqlhelp
@_KenWilson@jdanton Can't find the official docs but if memory serves me correctly, there was a difference in Editions at one point where Std did one and EE did another. I reserve the right to be wrong :) What edition are you using? #sqlhelp
Has anyone experienced an issue with a linked server only allowing 99 rows to return when using Oracle 19c client? If more than 99 rows are returned we get “unexpected catastrophic failure” message and a stack dump. The dump shows a memory access violation. #sqlhelp
@_KenWilson Good point. I would argue compliance. The expiration date imo is more regulatory commitment that after the specified date the cert is considered out of date. If you get audited then I'm sure this will get picked up on. #sqlhelp
Only about 36% of Americans get a college degree. So why should 64% of Americans who don't go to college pay for the student loan debt of the elite minority who do?
@MikeHardin63@Poljarg@lilymanx@BOSSportsFan98@repmorgan@andrewbostom It’s not. I think you think I want student loan debt forgiveness to be a thing and I don’t. My only issues with the original tweet was with the insinuation that choosing debt for education is a bad decision. Your loan your responsibility, period.
@MikeHardin63@Poljarg@lilymanx@BOSSportsFan98@repmorgan@andrewbostom Nevertheless there may be many extenuating circumstances as to why someone falls behind on student loan debt. The only person that can determine if the decision was good or bad is the one who made it. Doesn’t change the fact that this is bad legislation.
@Poljarg@MikeHardin63@lilymanx@BOSSportsFan98@repmorgan@andrewbostom I can agree with that. I personally think that an art history degree is a waste of money especially if you incur debt to get it but I also don’t have the first clue what they extend to do with it so who am I to judge. I imagine the curators at the Louvre would think it isn’t.
@Poljarg@MikeHardin63@lilymanx@BOSSportsFan98@repmorgan@andrewbostom Those that are paying realize that this legislation will be bad as it will greatly increase what we are already paying to pay for the ones that aren’t whether we are giving the opportunity to deny the forgiveness or not. 2/2
I have some SQL Server 2014 Express instances running on Windows 10 machines. Has anyone seen the 1909 upgrade cause the sa password to be cleared or reset? Just curious if it’s happened to anyone else. #slqhelp
