A good test for a man in our current age, and to understand where he is at, is to ask one simple question. "When was the last time you disciplined your wife?"

I received this press release today from a group of "faith leaders" holding an emergency meeting about ICE arresting two alleged illegal immigrants (a man and his wife) who have been acting as pastors in the US. Now, the tenor of the release is that Christians should rebuke the Trump Administration for enforcing the law. But note this line: "urging their immediate release and reunification with their three U.S citizen children..." This group of faith leaders KNOWS that the allegation is that these two people have been in the country illegally for over a DECADE. But they do not deny anywhere in the release that these charges are true. What witness does it present to the world when people who claim the title "pastor" knowingly break the law? What would the Apostle Paul have said about these two people? What would he say to the faith leaders who are only decrying the public officials enforcing the law but not the pastors breaking it? Christians are to be known as people who follow just laws. And it is perfectly just for a nation to decide who and who may not reside within its borders. Faith leaders should be urging Christians who have broken US immigration law to take every step to get right with our legal system while entrusting themselves to the Lord. We should be ashamed of issuing press releases like this.
