A woman can divorce her husband to go be with another man and end up getting alimony.
This would be like if a man got a divorce to be with his mistress, then his ex-wife had to show up at his house multiple times week for years to do his laundry, dishes, housecleaning, and cooking.

I finished a house renovation as a teen in Galveston after Ike.
Once or twice a day we’d be told by a black man to take lunch or get inside the house because he was going to shoot the guy across the street, or some variation of that.
