There's always more than one side to a story. The side you think is important probably isn't. Everything is much more complicated than you think it is. Trying to provide any kind of context about that gets you hated by just about everyone. I'm going to bed.

Outside Gaza, people argue about weapons, strategy, and what is “right.” Inside Gaza, people are asking a much simpler question: How do we survive or how do we leave? While the conversation these days revolves around the refusal of Hamas to hand over its weapons in order to move to the second phase of the ceasefire (the phase of reconstruction ) voices from outside continue to argue that this is the “right choice,” invoking past massacres like Sabra and Shatila ( Although in Sabra and Shatila massacre fewer than 3000 people were killed, whereas in the war in Gaza so far, approximately 100,000 people have been killed according to official figures(despite the presence of weapons)). But almost no one is asking the most important question: What do the people inside Gaza actually want? Their voices remain largely absent, there is no real measure for them. But yesterday, something small revealed something undeniable. A Facebook post by the Israeli coordinator asked people in Gaza a simple question: What do you need most right now? More aid? Medical supplies? Or a way to leave to a third country? 71% chose one answer: a way out. All of them from Gaza. Real accounts. Real names. Real people. That number is not just a statistic. It is a confession. A reflection of what life has become ! To be honest ( and honesty here always comes with consequences ) this is what people in Gaza talk about now: Food. How to get aid. How to get rid of the rats living inside their tents. How to survive the unbearable heat of summer under fabric roofs. How to educate their children when there are no schools. How to expand a tent that can barely hold a family. How to cover bathrooms whose thin cloth no longer provides even basic privacy. This is life now. Not ideology. Not slogans. Not grand narratives. And for many, there is only one path they can see out of this: Leaving. Not because they want to, but because they can no longer endure. People here are not asking for weapons. They are not asking for more endurance. They are not asking for more suffering to satisfy ideas held by those who live far away from all of this. People here do not care about what Hamas leadership wants. People here do not care about what the Israeli army wants. They are asking for something far more simple: A chance to live. #WoundedGaza

UK prime minister Keir Starmer is under fire after remarks critics say deliberately blur the line between Jewish identity and the actions of the Israeli state, while also smearing peaceful pro-Palestine protests by associating them with unrelated violence. Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) deputy director Peter Leary, speaking to Sky News, said the prime minister’s comments were “extremely irresponsible”, accusing him of pushing a false narrative on two fronts: equating Jewish people with Israel, and linking mass anti-genocide demonstrations with isolated violent incidents. Referring to events in Golders Green, Leary said there is “no connection whatsoever” between those incidents and the protests that have seen hundreds of thousands take to the streets. He highlighted that the marches consistently include large numbers of Jewish participants, many openly organising and marching as part of Jewish blocs, directly undermining Starmer’s framing. Leary stressed the movement’s message is clear and unchanged: opposition to Israel’s genocide against Palestinians, demands for an arms embargo and sanctions.

This BELOW is so much needed Media DOES lie to us every day This morning, for one example, I heard on the Sunday politics shows lie after lie about the Palestine marches. I know they were lies because I have been on most of the marches in the Jewish Bloc All support @PulaRJS!
Double Down News@DoubleDownNews

Fed up of the media lying to you every single day? Double Down Newswatch will hold them to account. Never before has aggressive scrutiny and fearless independent journalism been so important, yet never before has the mainstream media been so narrow in its perspectives, so infected in groupthink, and so tied to this failed political class and system. If you find yourself screaming at the telly at the established pundits and news providers. The Laura Kuenssbergs, the Robert Pestons, the Trevor Phillips, Dana Bash and Bari Weiss, you are not alone. There are millions of people like you and we’re here for you. This is not a program that will tell you what to think, the aim is to provide you with the information and knowledge you need to be able to make informed decisions in a functioning democracy, something that mainstream media is failing to do. Like millions of others I’ve watched in horror and astonishment as the Israelis have used Western weapons and diplomatic protection to maim, mutilate and murder tens of thousands of small children and other civilians. There’s no other issue where the divide between the mainstream media and political class, which apparently regards this as tolerable, and the rest of us who’ve reacted like normal human beings, is so profound. Above all, I feel deep shame and guilt at my own profession which continues to peddle a perverse inverted journalism, where allegations of racism are hurled not at the perpetrators and supporters of ethic cleansing, apartheid and genocide, but at their victims and their supporters, smeared and disempowered as antisemites. Gaza encapsulates the political and intellectual and moral bankruptcy of those who rule over us and those who are to tell us what to think. Western politics and Western journalism is in desperate need of renewal, we want to be a part of that and we hope you join us. @PulaRJS Double Down Newswatch, covering the stories that mainstream media misreports, underreports or simple doesn’t report at all. Premiers this Wednesday 6 May at 6pm

"If anyone has survived this starvation, it is this chicken. She survived my knife through nine displacements. Every time I reached for her neck, someone stopped me: my wife, Ayloul, and Zein [my children], who found in his chicken friend something worth saving. In a tent whose thin strips were colder than the hunger surrounding it, she felt she was a burden to us—eating anything, moving so lightly no one could hear her. Even her clucking was faint, and her gaze seemed to apologise for still being alive. But what truly saved her wasn’t us. It was the egg. Every three days, she laid one egg—warm— in a time when even a loaf of bread had disappeared. We would divide it: half for Zein, the other half for Ayloul, and I would postpone my hunger, filling myself just by watching them. And between one egg and the next, a question circled in my mind: Do I slaughter her, so we can eat for two days, or keep her alive… so we can endure longer? Even when my friend Hamed broke his arm and needed any protein in this void, I decided to slaughter her for him. He looked at her for a long time, then said: “No, Malek… I can’t bear this guilt. I won’t drink her broth… I won’t be the reason.” In that moment, I understood: we were saving ourselves from ourselves. It was a test of the last part within us that had not yet turned savage. We could not bring ourselves to harm a chicken— yet this vile world found it easy to abandon our children." - Malek Shinbary, Palestinian from Gaza

The level of complicity of the @BBC in the ethnic cleansing of southern Lebanon is shocking. I am listening to their Jerusalem correspondent report that the ‘IDF are striking Hezbollah targets’ while I’m on the ground in the middle of it watching men, women and children being killed on a daily basis. My colleagues are being executed. Paramedics are being systematically murdered. All of this is happening in plain sight and the BBC correspondent here in Lebanon knows it. May you all be put on trial for your deadly propaganda when the time comes. Shame on all of you, especially those on the ground who are too cowardly to speak out.
