Been trying so hard to like riftbound. It's a complete coin toss whether I'm having fun regardless of if I win or lose Early game, especially at low power, is just so boring, frustrating, volatile? Choices you have to make to not auto lose/win on the first showdown suck imo

Been noticing this too. I think Riftbound might be turning into a Pokemon. Packs with no value (despite costing above MSRP) because people opening for lottery tickets (aka Signature Cards) It's nice as someone treating Rift as a side game, but pack prizing does suck on average

This is some of the dumbest rules management I've ever heard. It's a miracle the game came out remotely playable with all this rules flip flopping, both unintentional and intentional somehow.

Hey Riftbounders - we've discovered an area of ambiguity causing confusion for judges globally that is centered around the rules for copying tokens, such as with LeBlanc and Reflection tokens. With Unleashed’s launch in China, their judge community received official guidance from us that tokens copy everything about the unit including whether the unit is a token or card and this replaces the copy’s trait with this information. Sett in Unleashed is testing so well. Need to see how he does into meta but he has all the components of a functioning deck thanks to extra card draw and ambush. Faefolk is crazy, Arena bar feels so much better. #riftbound

@soldkou Part of the problem is FAB isn't new anymore and is still shaking off a bad reputation. It's early association with tcg investors and inflated prices during COVID scared people off That and TCG culture here is very much fandom culture. 99% of players go to IP games or the big 3

@BlakeMeier Roughly the same here. There was like 4+ people in LGS discords talk up trying fab and sage before it officially launched and none showed. One of them went to warlords TCG for some reason.

Rares and Mythics from Mystical Archives barely appear in Play Boosters which signals a pretty clear shift away from from Play and towards Collector Boosters for people to crack with Secrets of Strixhaven. With packs still being $7 per, this feels very bad for the game.

They have way way more data than ygo thanks to arena and mtgo. Mtg is still insanely competitive on the inside

OK fr as a card game Unc - on the topic of "I never hear Yu-Gi-Oh players talk about Magic" the most I see it pop up is the "Yu-Gi-Oh is the hardest most challenging card game" crowd. Often it feels like Yu-Gi-Oh Vs Pokemon is the "beef" it is rarely Magic in the Yu-Gi-Oh convos.

@RakkoonGore @House_of_Champs You can't be serious. Mtgo? Cockatrice? Pro Tour? SCG circuit from way back? Majority of comp TCG heuristics were invented by mtg players. They are plenty competitive Hell, majority of new tcg's comp scenes are just comp mtg players invading while their game is in a down tick

You can no longer use Warmog's or an unbuffed Sett Brawler to order triggers on Monastery of Hirana to draw 1. You now have to spend the buff as a cost to put the triggered ability on the chain. If you have a buffed unit to begin with, you can still order the triggers to draw and rebuff.
