Bungie could've made an entirely new IP for their extraction shooter and it woulda been fine but resurrecting Marathon for THIS mid? They even had the gall to have a good frakkin artstyle, on a live service failure.

I'm not the biggest fan of Burnt Peanut, but the fact that he played Marathon and loved it, but doesn't stream the game because of the sheer amount of hatred he got from his audience for liking it, really says a lot about how gaming culture views this game.
