This video is a painful reminder of the ongoing war in Sudan that has claimed over 200,000 lives, according to aid agencies. Beyond direct killings, millions are facing famine, disease outbreaks and healthcare collapse. The World Health Organization says Sudan has become one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters, with more than 11 million people displaced and over 33 million needing assistance. This war is no longer just an internal power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. It has increasingly become a regional proxy war involving several foreign powers backing different sides for strategic, economic and geopolitical reasons. The main foreign backer most frequently accused of supporting the RSF is the United Arab Emirates. Numerous major investigations, including credible reports by Reuters, Le Monde, Human Rights Watch and EU agencies, allege that the UAE has provided weapons, drones, logistics and financial support to the RSF, although Abu Dhabi denies this. The UAE is accused of wanting influence over Sudan’s gold trade, Red Sea access and regional political dynamics. Egypt is widely regarded as the SAF’s military ally. Cairo views Sudan as strategically vital because of Nile water security and fears instability or an RSF takeover near its southern border. Egypt has reportedly supplied intelligence, training, ammunition and military equipment to the Sudanese army, though it officially denies direct military intervention. Iran has also become a major supporter of the SAF after restoring ties with Sudan in late 2023. Iran has reportedly supplied drones, including Mohajer and Ababil drones, which helped the Sudanese army regain territory in Khartoum and elsewhere. African leaders are talking about wars far away from the continent while ignoring one that has killed hundreds of thousands of Africans. They loot and take their money to the UAE, yet fail to use their political and economic leverage to help end this human tragedy. Sudan is collapsing before our eyes, millions have been displaced, entire communities destroyed, and still the continent’s leadership response remains weak and fragmented. It is a shameful disaster, a moral failure and a tragic reflection of failed African leadership. What is the African Union for? What are the regional bodies for?

But Muzukuru, is this not the corruption you are defending and promoting everyday and saying that it should take us to 2030 and beyond? Is this guy not the runner of your brother? The degradation of the police has become a symbol of the corrupt second republic which reminds me of when scar removed Mufasa from Pridelands and began to destroy everything with his hyenas. This is what you are promoting, so why complain?
Sabhuku Temba P. Mliswa@TembaMliswa

One's bubble will burst soon. This is a purely civil matter which did not warrant the police making a whole criminal issue about. Unfortunately CG Mutamba is all about money and has seriously degraded the professional state of the ZRP. I was once arrested because he had been paid by the Chinese. When the 2 officers were asked what crime I had committed, they admitted they were simply working on instructions. I was acquitted! This case transcends the interests of both the complainant and the accused, spotlighting instead the deeply entrenched corruption within the police force. The expectation of monetary remuneration to enforce the law creates a perilous environment for those lacking financial means. It is evident that the police system is mired in corruption, with CG Mutamba at its helm, driven solely by profit rather than the integrity of the institution, an assertion which can be corroborated by his predecessor, Chihuri. His seeming assumption that being Karanga provides immunity from scrutiny is dangerous and mistaken. Some of these Karangas are the biggest sellouts letting the President down. However the bubble will one day burst. His shenanigans are too many and even in court we can defend this position with evidentiary support.

Before people rush to judge and spread a small audio clip circulating on social media claiming it is Nelson Chamisa speaking, let us first be fair, responsible, and intelligent as a society. An audio clip of less than 60 seconds can never be treated as solid evidence against anyone. In today’s world of technology, people can imitate voices, edit recordings, manipulate sounds, and even use artificial intelligence to create fake conversations. We all know there are talented imitators who can sound exactly like public figures. That is why mature societies do not condemn people based on short viral audios without proper verification. We cannot destroy reputations, create confusion, or fuel hatred using unverified social media clips. Anyone can record, edit, cut, and spread an audio with a hidden agenda. The question we must ask ourselves is: where is the full recording, where is the context, and who verified that the voice is genuinely his? As Zimbabweans, we must learn to think critically instead of becoming emotional every time something trends online. Today it is Chamisa; tomorrow it could be another innocent person. Leaders, celebrities, and public figures are easy targets for misinformation. Let us not allow social media propaganda and fake narratives to divide us or manipulate public opinion. Truth must always come before excitement. Facts must come before rumours. A responsible nation does not judge people through a 20-second viral audio clip. For the longest time, Chamisa has faced relentless smear campaigns from ZANU-PF and its apologists. His name and popularity have often been used to divert attention from ongoing discussions of public importance. Listening to the so-called interviews, one could easily conclude that they are either AI fabricated or hijacked informal conversations, rather than genuine interviews intended to inform the public. Opposition leaders in Zimbabwe have long preached unity, yet they continue to form parallel organizations. Why? Because deep down, they understand that meaningful unity among them has become increasingly difficult. Despite this, they all seem to agree on one thing, blaming Chamisa for everything including their failure to negotiate among themselves and build the unity they speak about every day.

It doesn’t make sense how Wicknell is lying that Sonia stole this video from his phone, yet Wicknell sent this video threatening someone who opened a fraud case against him in a foreign country CAS_66/_/2026? He sent the video while sitting with this powerful President saying that he knows the President of the country where the case is opened, and he could make the case and that person disappear. How does he now abuse his power to get Zimbabwean police to arrest an innocent woman and mother of his kids over his own boasting?
