@Humanstein You could tell a newspaper reporter literally any number for an inventory count that you wanted. They don’t know anything. Having run a bookstore that actually had as many unique titles as Blockbuster claimed I can tell you they didn’t have even a quarter of that number.

Blockbuster stores were required to have at least 7,000 movies. Many had closer to 10,000. Netflix has averaged ~3,000 movies for the last several years. At the peak Netflix had like 5,000.
