Some nations have freedom in the blood and are ready to face the greatest perils and hardships in its defense. It is not for what it offers on the material plane that they love it; they regard freedom itself as something so precious, so needful to their happiness that no other boon could compensate for its loss, and its enjoyment consoles them even in their darkest hours. ~ Alexis de Toqueville

Josh Shapiro, has been on a mission to kill school choice of every kind. Why? Because he's afraid of the teachers union bosses. Kids trapped in failing schools in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh? Too bad—catering to union power comes first.

Catholics don’t be a sucker You’re being played by Obama You should have a healthy suspicion of the pope, cardinals and bishops when they get involved in partisan politics
Nelson R. Albino@NelsonRAlbino

DC money isn’t an entitlement. After decades of unbroken Democrat control in Pittsburgh & Allegheny County, PRT is a textbook case of government inefficiency. Operating budget ~$540M–$572M/year. Fares & local revenue cover just 9-15%. Taxpayers subsidize 85%+. Massive pandemic bailouts (> $500M federal), yet ridership still lags pre-2020 levels, reliability is down, labor costs exploding — and now they're raiding capital funds meant for infrastructure just to keep the lights on. That's not "investing in transit." That's managed decline. If local Dems can't run PRT efficiently after generations in power with zero accountability, why should taxpayers nationwide keep writing blank checks? Trump's push to cut bloated federal transit/Amtrak subsidies & prioritize defense isn't "gutting" infrastructure — it's demanding fiscal discipline on bottomless pits.

🚨 NOW: JD Vance sends a message to those who are DEMORALIZED by the SAVE America Act not being passed "I've seen a lot of people saying, 'what the hell's the point of voting for these guys if you've got 3 Republicans joining with with the Democrats to prevent the SAVE Act from passing?" "Here's my response to that: Yes, it is annoying to me that there are only 45 or 46 Republicans who will fight politically to get the SAVE Act passed, but you know what? 10 years ago, that number was **35**! So the answer to frustration is engagement. Don't give up on this process—get MORE involved in this process, and DEMAND more from people like me. THAT'S how we take our country back."

🚨 WOW. Border Czar Tom Homan just gave the PERFECT response to Pope Leo "I'm a lifelong Catholic. I wish they'd STAY OUT of immigration, they don't know what they're talking about." "Because if they wore my shoes for 40 years, and talked to a 9-year-old girl that got r*ped multiple times, or stood in the back of a tractor trailer with 19 dead aliens at my feet, including a 5-year-old boy that baked to death, if they understood the atrocities that happened on the open border, I think their opinion would change!" "And I welcome discussion with any of them, because they don't understand illegal immigration is not a victimless crime." "Where President Trump had the most secure border in the lifetime of this nation, right now, lives are being saved. He's saving thousands of lives a year because he has a secure border!" "Human traffickers are out of business, right? The cartels are going bankrupt because of that secure border. I wish they'd understand that." "Because if they did, I think they'd have a different opinion." Mic drop.

Given that our institutions are corrupted beyond repair - you can’t treat them like you would have 25 years ago. And that’s true whether it’s the Catholic Church, PBS or the American Bar Assn… they all function as partisan entities so you need to treat them that way

It is in the best interests of the Roman Catholic Church, the USA and the world that the Vatican publicly release details as to the subject matter of the recent meeting between Pope Leo XIV and Obama's political strategist, David Axelrod. This incident is harming the Church in the USA far more than it is harming the USA itself. Transparency may defuse the situation.

@colin_dunlap The city of Pgh struggles to provide traffic control, law enforcement and emergency services to the 300,000 people living there. I've seen estimates that 700,000 people may attend the draft. Thats a recipe for disaster.

With everything you just said, @BishopBarron, I think the Pope owes America—and many Western nations affected by mass migration—a serious apology and a moment of reflection. As a Catholic, I’m genuinely outraged. Outraged at what feels like silence and inconsistency when Christians around the world are suffering persecution and violence at the hands of Muslim and the response of the Church is to put Muslim prayer rooms in Rome. Outraged at that Catholic-linked charities and institutions have become entangled—directly or indirectly—in mass migration, where in many cases, trafficking is involved. And I’m outraged that parts of the Church appear increasingly aligned with political messaging rather than spiritual leadership—especially in moments like this, where the Pope meeting with a prominent Democratic strategist, who is not a Catholic, nor a Christian raises real questions. The Church should not be functioning as a political actor. It should be unapologetically Catholic—rooted in doctrine, tradition, evangelization, and the salvation of souls. Not drifting into policy advocacy or signaling that aligns it with one side of modern political debates. What many faithful Catholics are asking for is simple: clarity, consistency, and a Church that focuses on its mission instead of politics that are destroying the sovereignty of so many Nations.
Bishop Robert Barron@BishopBarron

The statements made by President Trump on Truth Social regarding the Pope were entirely inappropriate and disrespectful. They don’t contribute at all to a constructive conversation. It is the Pope’s prerogative to articulate Catholic doctrine and the principles that govern the moral life. In regard to the concrete application of those principles, people of good will can and do disagree. I would warmly recommend that serious Catholics within the Trump administration–Secretary Rubio, Vice President Vance, Ambassador Brian Burch, and others–might meet with Vatican officials so that a real dialogue can take place. This is far preferable to the statements on social media. I am very grateful for the many ways that the Trump administration has reached out to Catholics and other people of faith. It has been a high honor to serve on the Religious Liberty Commission. No President in my lifetime has shown a greater dedication to defending our first liberty. All that said, I think the President owes the Pope an apology.

One does not need to be a rocket scientist to realize that the reason Obama henchman David Axelrod met with Pope Leo last week was to coordinate a media propaganda blitz and quasi-color revolution designed to separate faithful American Roman Catholics from support for the MAGA agenda.
