Further to my previous post about the disabled person in Bradford being killed after a car mounted the pavement... I have obtained some footage of the suspect trying to get away from the scene. Onlookers stopped him from fleeing. @RestoreBradford @Louise71James

@_SignalNotNoise There's speculation that the CCTV time may have been incorrect and that the accused could have departed one hour earlier. I've charted the angles of the Sun for the date and location, and a shadow cast on the Corsa by a lamp post confirms that the CCTV time is correct.

Timeline of Ann Widdecombe’s murder (as of 14th July 2026) - Wednesday 8th July 2026 - 08:05: Ann Widdecombe (78, former Conservative MP for Maidstone 1987–2010, later Reform UK immigration and justice spokesperson) appears live on TalkTV from her home defending Nigel Farage. ~07:51: CCTV captures a man (later the main suspect) in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, getting into a red vehicle with what appears to be a long object protruding from his shorts pocket. Rotherham is approximately 270 miles / 430 km from Haytor. 12:19: Last known contact... a Channel 5 researcher speaks to Ann about setting up a video interview. ~12:30: Police believe the attack occurred at her isolated rural home in Haytor, on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon. She lived alone. She fails to respond to subsequent Zoom messages and calls from the producer asking “Is everything OK?” (three unanswered calls between 12:48 and 13:14). - She had also given a pre-recorded radio interview shortly beforehand. - Thursday 9th July 2026 - ~11:40: Ambulance service calls police. Officers find Widdecombe dead inside her property with serious injuries from a brutal attack. Her body had lain undiscovered for nearly 24 hours after the assault. - Friday 10th July 2026 ~06:30: Widdecombe’s management team issues a statement confirming her death but gives no indication it was suspicious. 15:44: Devon and Cornwall Police publicly confirm a murder investigation. Assistant Chief Constable Matt Longman states there is “no information that this is a politically motivated crime” and it is not being treated as terror-related. ~17:45: Police arrest a 26 year old white British man on suspicion of murder (reportedly a few miles from the scene). - Saturday 11th July 2026 Early morning (~06:31): The 26 year old is released without charge and is no longer part of the investigation. A manhunt continues. Police state they have made an “active decision not to release further information, including descriptions of any potential suspects or releasing CCTV footage” to avoid compromising inquiries. ~21:00 / 23:41: A 28 year old white British man from Rotherham is arrested at an address in Rotherham on suspicion of murder. The arrest was carried out with support from Counter Terrorism Policing North East and South Yorkshire Police. Sunday 12th July 2026 Devon and Cornwall Police state there is “nothing to suggest” the murder was politically motivated and they are not looking for anyone else. Monday 13th July 2026 Counter Terrorism Policing takes over the lead investigation after “new information and evidence” emerges. The 28 year old suspect is re-arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. Extensive searches are carried out at addresses in Rotherham. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood confirms in Parliament that the suspect was not known to Prevent (the government’s anti-extremism programme). Criticism emerges: Jonathan Hall KC (independent reviewer of terrorism legislation) publicly criticises Devon and Cornwall Police for prematurely steering the public away from considering a political or terrorist element. He stated it would have been better to remain open minded and admit uncertainty rather than rule possibilities out early, especially in the social media age. Tuesday 14th July 2026 Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor (head of Counter Terrorism Policing) states the killing was a “targeted attack” that was “brutal”. Police are investigating the extent of any planning or preparation and the motivation. Multiple lines of inquiry are being pursued (including digital forensics). The suspect remains in custody under Terrorism Act powers (warrant obtained for up to seven days’ detention). The murder investigation continues in parallel; it has not been formally declared a terrorist incident. Key mistakes, controversies and police failings Premature and incorrect public statements on motive by Devon and Cornwall Police: On 10th July and again on 12th July the local force explicitly told the public there was “no information” or “nothing to suggest” political motivation or terrorism. This was flatly contradicted days later when Counter Terrorism Policing took over the case on the basis of new evidence and described it as a targeted attack involving planning. Jonathan Hall KC directly criticised this as steering the public in the wrong direction too early. Initial arrest of the wrong person: A 26 year old was arrested locally on 10th July and released the next morning. While releasing people when evidence does not support charges is normal procedure, it highlights that the early focus was misdirected while the actual suspect (who had travelled ~270 miles) was still at large. Delayed discovery of the body: The attack occurred around midday on Wednesday; the body was only found the following morning after a welfare check triggered by missed media commitments. For a high-profile former minister and current Reform UK spokesperson living alone in an isolated location, this nearly 24-hour gap raises legitimate questions about response protocols for missed high-profile appointments. Initial communication strategy backfired: The force’s decision to withhold detailed suspect descriptions and CCTV while simultaneously making confident (and later disproven) statements ruling out political motives damaged trust when the investigation had to be escalated nationally. The shift to Counter Terrorism Policing and the “targeted attack” description show that the initial local assessment was inadequate. Police later defended their handling as a dynamic investigation where new information naturally changes the picture, but the early public certainty on motive was clearly a significant error that required rapid correction by national specialists The investigation remains active. Motive, exact method, and full details of planning are not yet public. All information above is drawn from official police statements and media reporting.

@keepthefaithth Indeed a sad and troubling thought. Whoever this murderer is, they have to face full justice. Unfortunately that doesn’t include capital punishment but I wish it did.

@_SignalNotNoise It's deeply troubling that Ann may have laid badly injured for hours undiscovered. Whoever carried out this attack needs to be locked away forever in the absence of capital punishment.

A house which was converted into a 9 bed HMO in Bradford without planning permission has been refused a retrospective planning application. Twice. The planning refusal was based on the property being in a conservation area and is said to provide cramped and substandard living conditions. Also, proving little or no natural light into some of the rooms. A second application was submitted by Mohammed Ngala to have 8 rooms instead of 9 but it was refused. 153 little Horton lane, Bradford.

So this dodgy one mounted a kerb and struck pedestrians in Bradford city centre yesterday, killing a disabled pedestrian and seriously injuring another. The public had to stop him escaping the scene.
