What amazes me is that the likes of Terry were able to have complete write off seasons under poor managers. He was shit and dropped under AVB, shit and dropped under Rafa, awful and came 10th under Jose. VVD few errors at 34 means he was never that good. Mental
sam⛷@sambrazy

Van Dijk by the way, the way you get called out for reasonably thinking Terry or Nesta we’re better is hilarious. Both captained league titles at 34 while he’s already washed

Thank you Joe Hart. Exactly the sort of mentality im talking about. It shouldn't need the manager to have the mentality on the pitch. People talk about Klopp and forget he had Milner Henderson as his lieutenants on the pitch. They wouldnt stand for this shit

@07Simmo @AdamMcKola Oh my god you’re still going on about title numbers 😂😂😂. It’s all you ever do. Henry only has 2 PL titles. Let me guess, Dwight Yorke is better?

Paolo Maldini on the Ballon d’Or & Lionel Messi: “The Ballon d’Or looked for him” “When I look at this year’s Ballon d’Or nominees, I see excellent players, no doubt. But I also see a huge difference with what Messi offered. It was never just about numbers or titles, it was the qualitative difference: his impact, aesthetics, and total game control. Messi would achieve in two months what others might need a whole season.” “We even criticised him for scoring only two goals in a match, or if he didn’t produce pure magic, because we were simply used to the impossible from him. Imagine if today’s players had played in Messi’s era. The Ballon d’Or would have become an annual ritual of handing it to him, sixteen times, maybe more, because he redefined the standard of excellence every year.” “This is not to devalue the talent we see today, but to recognise that we were lucky to witness a phenomenon that will never be repeated. Messi made the Ballon d’Or search for him, not the other way around. Today, the award looks for a champion… but it will never find another legend like him. Maybe that’s why I was glad to retire early, I couldn’t stand defending against him every season.”
