@HistoricPackers Actually met him in as a kid the mid 1970’s at a Marquette basketball game at the old Mecca! My dad introduced me to him… Didn’t know who he was of course… but never forgot that great nickname!

Happy heaven birthday today to Charles "Buckets" Goldenberg. Born in 1910 in Odessa, Ukraine, before emigrating to Milwaukee, Goldenberg played 13 seasons in Green Bay from 1933-45, appearing in 122 games and starting 73 as both a guard and a back. In addition to playing on three NFL title teams with the Packers, he was inducted into the @PackersHOF. Goldenberg was named to the NFL All-Decade Team in the 1930s. However, he is one of just nine of those all-decade honorees not inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
