We’re still here.
Jesus Christ did NOT break the law..
Pilate, the governor of Judea at the time of Jesus said “I find no fault in him (Jesus).” When passing judgement Christ. So even those who crucified him knew he wasn’t breaking the law.
Christ was crucified for challenging the religious power of the Pharisees, not the political power of Rome. In fact, Christ said to his followers “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” when asked if they should break the law by not paying their taxes.
He told his followers to obey the law, not interfere with law enforcement.
Jesus Christ wasn’t that kind of rebel. He knew where the real battles are, and knew where the law was just.
Barabbas was a known murderer and insurrectionist. Christ didn’t willingly save Barabbas from the cross, because Christ knew that Barabbas, for all his crimes, belonged up there. A man who broke federal laws belonged at the receiving end of the consequences. That’s why Christ didn’t offer himself in Barabbas’s place.
The CROWD chose Jesus to be crucified in Barabbas’ place.
… Today, Jesus would know that these people - Renee Good & Alex Pretti - are violating the law, and should face the consequences.
Honestly, if Jesus showed up to protests and used his chariot to block the Roman Legionnaires from arresting thieves, murderers, & child-rapists, and then hit one with his chariot, or even came threateningly close…
… OR if he showed up to a protest and used his body to block the Roman Legionnaires from arresting child-rapists & human traffickers…
… I probably would say “He should’ve obeyed the law”.
But that wasn’t our Savior.
