@benonwine “You’re not dying bro” (films dying man) - case closed!
English

The details emerging from the Henry Nowak case are genuinely harrowing.
Jurors heard transcripts in court in which Henry Nowak can allegedly be heard saying:
“I am dying.”
According to the prosecution, Vickrum Digwa replied:
“You’re not dying bro.”
The prosecution said that around 10 minutes later, Henry told Digwa:
“You stabbed me.”
Digwa allegedly responded:
“No I didn’t,” before saying: “You started recording me, thinking you’re sick.”
The court was then shown an image taken from a video Digwa recorded of Henry lying on the ground.
The prosecution asked him directly:
“He’s lying on the floor saying he was dying and you made a video of his face, why?”
Digwa replied:
“I don’t know why.”
Prosecutors also told the jury that when police arrived at the scene, Digwa repeatedly claimed Henry was “pretending.”
Before the jury, Digwa said:
“I thought that he was pretending to be in a worse condition than he was.”
Just imagine those final moments.
A young man allegedly saying “I am dying” while lying wounded on the ground… and being accused of pretending.
It is difficult to read details like these and not feel completely heartbroken for Henry Nowak and his family.
People across the country are following this case because they cannot comprehend the sheer horror of what the court is hearing.
English

Heartbreaking and deeply disturbing details are continuing to emerge during the trial of Vickrum Digwa, the man accused of murdering Polish-British student Henry Nowak.
Jurors have now been shown mobile phone footage of the confrontation that ended with a young man losing his life.
Digwa told the court he was carrying a 21cm kirpan a Sikh ceremonial blade worn around his neck and claimed he feared Henry would use it against him.
“I thought I had to do something because I was afraid that he was going to stab me with my own kirpan,” he said.
But the court also heard that Henry Nowak was trying to escape.
According to the evidence presented, Henry attempted to flee for his life, climbing over a fence while Digwa was allegedly still stabbing him.
One of the most shocking details heard by the jury is that police initially handcuffed Henry as he lay on the ground bleeding out, after Digwa reportedly claimed Henry was the aggressor and had made racist remarks.
The court also heard allegations that Digwa’s mother, Kiran Kaur, 53, removed the kirpan from the scene after the stabbing. She denies assisting an offender.
At the centre of all this is a young man who never came home.
A son.
A friend.
A life gone forever.
And every new detail emerging from this case is leaving people across the country horrified and heartbroken.
Imagine Henry’s family hearing that he was allegedly restrained while fighting for his life. Heartbreaking beyond words. Cases like this destroy public trust because people feel catastrophic mistakes are never properly acknowledged and this is why the police should be investigated and held to account for there massive failings and incompetence in Henry’s brutal murder, that’s not anti-police it’s about making sure every emergency response is fair, competent and focused on saving lives and that clearly didn’t happen in Henry’s case.

@LBC @aliciakearns @ShelaghFogarty “For children, I have to remember you aren’t small adults and I have to try to make sure you won’t do these serious things again.” 🤢.- See, he cant say to the girl they raped that she won’t experience this again as his priority is setting them free

@xm_muva @bigswigger325 Honestly I think if that ”strong man” was a recent male immigrant, they would accept that he had “a limited understanding” of violence, and give him a slap on the wrist. It’s only violence against women and girls that seems to be mitigated somehow
English

@bigswigger325 The system sympathizes with rapists lol the strong man would also be imprisoned. The system doesn't think rape is the violent evil crime it is.
English

If she killed them though, the judge would have no understanding or grace for her and would imprison her. So my question to a patriarchal society is .. what do you want women to do?

Please don't just be angry and outraged. Please take the time to request a Sentencing Review and try to help get these sentences overturned:
gov.uk/ask-crown-cour…
It will ask you for some case details as you go through the submission, I will put the necessary answers below. It takes less than 5 minutes — we need to do this for the sake of these poor children.
Answers needed...
Names of the convicted:
"Have been withheld from the public. Sentencing Judge is Judge Nicholas Rowland.
Date of sentence:
"21 / 05 / 2026" and "within the past 28 days"
Crown Court where this sentence was issued:
"Southampton"
Which offence(s) was the sentence given for?:
"Rape, and Taking and Possessing Indecent Images"
Why do you think the sentence is unduly lenient?:
Insert your own answer, and do not use profanity no matter how upset you are.
Mine was: The crimes here are violent crimes that have destroyed the lives of the victims, at least one of which is now suicidal and the sentence is not remotely proportional to the severity of the crime. Additionally, the Judge's comments seem to indicate a bias in favour of the convicted, as he offers up justifications for their behaviour such as being low IQ.
These crimes were not spontaneous, they were premeditated and planned. They were also filmed. So we know what happened, and we know that they were intelligent enough to plan and execute the luring and entrapment of their victims, which does not indicate that they were the kind of simpletons the Judge suggests. If they had the capacity to plan the crimes in advance, then they have the capacity to be held criminally responsible for those actions.

Genuinely a spectacular demonstration of how men feel victimised by women. A slow, rolling crashout at literally nothing more than a lack of validation. It's accidental art.

Neurologist accused of 48 counts of sexual assaults against 48 of his female patients has been acquitted recently by a male judge. 48!
In doing so, the judge dismissed the expert testimony of a female doctor and expert on whether vaginal and breast exams were part of the norm during neurological exams (They are not)
We are still a long way from addressing sexism and gender bias in the court systems. This all will serve to further undermine reporting. Victims legitimately ask "what is the point"

You’re a woman who’s having migraines and blackouts. You’re afraid, worried, and it’s taken months to get an appointment with the neurologist in whose office you’re sitting, Dr. Jeffrey “Scott” Sloka.
When Dr. Sloka comes in, the nurse leaves, which is weird, but you’re here for a neurology appointment, so you shrug it off. The doctor asks you some questions, and then he tells you he needs to do a vaginal exam and a breast exam.
You don’t understand why, and he doesn’t explain. You want to refuse, but what if you make him angry? What if he refuses to continue the appointment? This is Canada; you waited for five months for this appointment, and your symptoms are getting worse — so you consent, even though you still don’t understand why he wants to examine you in this way.
Once you’re undressed, Dr. Sloka begins the exam by telling you to remove your gown and stand completely naked with arms and legs spread. The nurse still hasn’t come back, but the doctor proceeds anyway. He says something about checking for lumps, but that doesn’t make any sense; he’s a neurologist, not an ob/gyn.
Then you notice that he isn’t wearing gloves.
During the breast exam, he touches you in ways that make you uncomfortable, and that are not a part of an ordinary breast exam. The vaginal exam is worse: the exam lasts an exceptionally long time, and the doctor inserts his ungloved fingers. The nurse still hasn’t returned.
After the appointment, you feel dirty, soiled. You know deep down that you were assaulted, so eventually you work up the courage to file a report.
It opens a floodgate.
By the time the trial starts, Dr. Sloka has already lost his license, having pled guilty in front of the licensing board. He is facing 48 separate charges for the sexual abuse of his patients.
Woman after woman testifies to this man’s inappropriate behavior. Multiple women testify that Dr. Sloka touched them inappropriately and intimately while not wearing gloves; they describe vaginal exams, rectal exams, and breast exams involving contact that had nothing to do with checking for lumps. An underage girl cries as she describes being pressured into a vaginal exam while her mother was banned from the room.
48 counts. 48 victims. 41 women and girls who took the stand to testify about the abuse they endured.
And one more woman: the Crown’s key expert, Toronto neurologist Dr. Vera Bril. She testified that vaginal, rectal, and breast exams are “far outside our standard of practice,” and “far, far outside” of what neurologists typically do. She stated that these intimate exams were “not necessary” for treating or diagnosing the neurological issues presented by the victims. When the judge retires to deliberate, a conviction seems certain.
Except that’s not what happens.
The judge - Justice Craig Perry - discounts the testimony of all 42 women. He singles out Dr. Bril’s testimony in particular as suffering from “profound frailties,” and accused her of displaying “bias.” He dismisses the victims’ testimonies as well, citing “inconsistencies,” even though none of said “inconsistencies” touched in any way on ex-Dr. Sloka’s guilt.
He accepts ex-Dr. Sloka’s claim that the assaults were medically necessary exams, even though Sloka admits to having performed many of them ungloved, and cannot explain what these exams had to do with any of his victims’ symptoms.
In the end, Justice Craig Perry acquits ex-Dr. Jeffrey “Scott” Sloka on all 48 counts, choosing to believe a (male) defendant who had already admitted his guilt in front of the licensing board over 41 (female) victims and an expert (female) neurologist.
And they say the patriarchy is dead.
