Hugh Grant: "It's been very, very depressing watching Big Tech kidn*p their lives, and to see children really finding it very, very difficult to get properly interested in anything that isn't a screen."

SAMSON is officially coming to console, out tomorrow on PC. • $25 for 25 hours of content • Post launch DLC confirmed (free & paid) • On GTA comparisons - "That is a serious compliment that we are very proud of. But we are not GTA. We are not AAA. We are a relatively small team on a limited budget. We don’t have the “safety nets” from a big publisher or investor. What we do have is experience and a clear idea of what this should feel like, and we are very proud of what this has become. Hard, grounded, physical."

What happens when you decide to remake Contra after doing 30 hits of acid? You get Chainstaff! An insane looking 2D-platformer about an alien trying to fight off an invasion of its home planet. Ain't no AI-generated assets here. It looks like pure hand-drawn chaos! I'm loving this revival of 2D platformers and Metroidvanias by small boutique studios. Chainstaff drops in two days on Steam, Xbox and PS5.

People know what delivery robots stand for. They know these reboots are human replacement machines. That's why they disrupt them.
Hedgie@HedgieMarkets

🦔Delivery robots from companies like Kiwibot, Starship Technologies, and Uber Eats are facing increasing vandalism across US and UK cities. Incidents include graffiti, physical attacks, robots being knocked over, and worse. Kiwibot reported around 1,600 incidents out of 80,000 deliveries on the UC Berkeley campus. In Sheffield, UK, two robots were found covered in graffiti reading "off our streets." Each robot costs around $2,500 to replace. My Take I'd resist the easy framing of this as mindless vandalism or neo-Luddism. When people start physically attacking robots on public streets, it's usually worth asking what the robots represent to them rather than just condemning the behavior. Delivery robots occupy public sidewalks built and maintained by taxpayers, operated by private companies that pay nothing for that space and answer to no one locally if something goes wrong. They're also showing up in cities where gig workers are already squeezed, where the promise that technology creates more jobs than it eliminates is wearing thin, and where the people most affected by automation have the least say in how it gets deployed. The robots are an easy, visible, low-consequence target for frustration that has nowhere else to go. Companies treating this purely as a security problem to be solved rather than a signal worth understanding are going to keep replacing $2,500 robots indefinitely. Hedgie🤗
