@orig_valentine @richg6567 @jimsoxfan @RedsoxStan @JonathanBaumst4 Mayer and Early for Marte sounds fair to me
English

@richg6567 @jimsoxfan @RedsoxStan @JonathanBaumst4 I don’t think you’re being straight with your post… It wasn’t Marte from Mayer. It was Marte for Mayer AND Tolle or Early….and fuck that!!!
English

Where are the analytic toolbags who said don’t trade Mayer for Marte? Another absolute blunder by the Bresbot @jimsoxfan @RedsoxStan @JonathanBaumst4

English

@richg6567 @jimsoxfan @RedsoxStan @JonathanBaumst4 I would have easily given up Mayer, Early, Campbell for Marte
English

@1776_ghost @MattWalshBlog But even people with dementia have limited rights the same as children.
English

Potential isn't possession though. You said rights require HAVING the capacity...now it's MIGHT have it.
That's a new rule. And it still doesn't save you: a baby's capacity is ahead of it, but end stage dementia and a permanent coma are irreversible. There's no potential coming back.
By your own rule they lose their rights. So either grandma stopped being a person when the dementia took hold, or your rule just quietly became 'has it, will have it, or once had it'...which is just 'is human' in a disguise. The circular thing. Again.
English

No it's not. Your dog smells, eats his own shit, and barks. Your dog has no fundamental right to participate in society at all. Children do.
Sammy Boop!@samdattola1
@MattWalshBlog My dog is cleaner and more well behaved than lots of children. fuck off!
English

@1776_ghost @MattWalshBlog Rights require the ability to form concepts or the potential to form concepts. Babies and children don’t have the same right fully formed adults do, that’s why they can’t consent. People with dementia have moments of clarity so yes they always have the potential.
English

@1776_ghost @MattWalshBlog Babies do have rights because they have the potential to form concepts same with a person with dementia or in a coma.
English

perfect. thats locked in then. rights need forming concepts, recognizing rights in others, conceptualizing them.
a newborn cant do a single one of those. neither can someone in late stage dementia or a permanent coma.
so by YOUR rule none of them have rights. either you say that out loud, babies have no rights, or your criterion is broken and the only thing left is 'theyre human' which is the circular thing you been dodging since the start. which is it?
English

@1776_ghost @MattWalshBlog Animals can’t form concepts, they can’t recognize rights in others or even conceptualize them. Just because something is living and sentient doesn’t mean they have rights.
English

Citing the law about legal rights isn't an appeal to authority, it's the definition of the term. And you said 'animals don't have rights,' period. Now you mean natural rights? That's a different claim. Fine: if rights are inherent and not state granted, what grants them? Whatever your answer is, you now have to explain why a living, sentient animal doesn't qualify. You keep asserting it. Argue it.
English

@1776_ghost @MattWalshBlog Has nothing to do with my feelings. I don’t care about your appeal to authority. Government is illegitimate and doesn’t grant rights.
English

@___Javin @MattWalshBlog Cool. Your feelings don't repeal the penal code. You said they don't HAVE rights they do, that's settled. 'I don't care' isn't a rebuttal, it's you noticing you were wrong and deciding to be loud about it instead.
English

Animals have legally enforceable protections in all 50 states. Every state has animal cruelty laws, many of them felonies. There's a federal Animal Welfare Act.
You can go to prison for abusing your own dog and that's the key part: if animals had zero rights, cruelty laws would only protect the owner's property interest, but you can be prosecuted for abusing an animal you own. The law protects the animal itself. That's a right by any functional definition a legally enforceable protection against how others can treat you.
Are they full legal "persons" with constitutional rights? No. But "no rights at all" and "not the same rights as humans" are very different claims, and he made the dumb one.
English

Uhhhh no they dont... theyre bathed regularly. No they do not eat their own shit. Yea they bark to let me know someones outside. Yes Matt in our society animals have rights. Its a life. My dogs are better behaved than many children, yes they are.
No they arent human but they arent out being bad humans either...
Yes, Matt, you can fuck off!
English

@DylanDolby @TexasAnCap Nothing about libertarianism says people will do the right thing.
English

@TexasAnCap A belief that most people will do the right thing (despite the fact of human greed).
English

@philthatremains The list of of good libertarians is pathetically small and it’s still bigger than the list of good Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, liberals, socials all combined.
English

there are currently so few “good” libertarians, it has become safe to ignore essentially all libertarians.
Jeremy Kauffman 🦔🌲🌕@jeremykauffman
The Libertarian Party has elected a new chair, @badevan. He has been convicted of armed robbery, publishes gay torture porn, and was a Covid panican. The good news is the Libertarian Party under his leadership should be unable to take any votes from Republicans.
English

@philthatremains Except none of these people are libertarians. Not even remotely close.
English

@philthatremains What retard made this ranking? You could literally just flip this around and it would be a lot closer to accurate.
English

@joe_mango @benbackupbackup Wow defending rape? You are a disgusting human being
English

@benbackupbackup "What happens when free association produces legal codes which contravene ethical mores? How is that contradiction resolved in libertarianism?"
"OMG YOU SUPPORT RAPE?"
You must dodge since you have a playground ideology so can't reckon with anything too difficult or uncomfortable
English

This communist just said raping a kid is “freedom of association”.
These people are sick.
JM@joe_mango
@benbackupbackup @MemeTheVan You want to repeal the Civil Rights Act because it upends the principle of freedom of association via federal/state mandates, so under your view you ought to support pedophilia assuming a group freely associated for it. You are a pedophile and a pedophile defender.
English

Nothing.
Libertarians are retarded.
🥷🦅Austin Wade Petersen 🇺🇲🥋@AP4Liberty
WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED IF ANYTHING LIBERTARIANS?
English

@BiblicalAnarchy @Josh_Smith69420 I gave up on politics a while ago. The only way out of this shit show is from the ground up. There is no voting our way out of this.
English

@Rach4Patriarchy Fuck the Republican, Democrat, and libertarian party. This is coming from a cringe libertarian
English

@paleochristcon Doesn’t change the fact that Ron Paul was right about everything. The majority of people are just too stupid to understand that.
