Massive wraps needs to be given to RTS and AKP. We often talk about edges needing time to gel and build a combination. That's the first time those two have ever played together, and it was solid as a rock. Seriously impressive

If TMM brains it in this game, I think he needs to start at halfback till Metcalf returns. Boyd offer absolutely fuck all at halfback beyond a long kick. And we are going to need to convert way more the territory our forwards get. He can really bang.

I am hearing terrible things about the Mt. Maunganui tragedy. That we should and could have done better. Brave guys ripping off roofs to get to trapped survivors were told to get down because it wasn't ‘safe’ or they ‘broke the rules’ or they weren't wearing shoes. In times like these. We need to ignore the cretins in the high viz with the clip boards and keep the fuck digging. Let’s not have another Pike River. This would not happen in Japan or China. Sometimes...you have to break rules to save lives.

@antonposa Physically he would excel there! Tall, powerful, can pass. I agree effort, fitness and fullback positional play would be the issue. Not sure this is considered unfortunately. Hopefully he can lock down a first grade spot as we need that threat in the centres

@____Damoo what are your thoughts on Leiataua being groomed for it? He played plenty of FB coming through. Work rate might be an issue though, and I suspect effort areas are why he hasn't played more FB.

Many fans (incl me) calling for this. Pros: Opens up attack, existing combination with AKP from Burleigh Bears days, better/faster passing and running game. Cons: Lower yardage, weaker in contact/air, less capable of 1-on-1s, voice not as commanding, will prob lose Berry/Ali.

@antonposa Tbf if AKP is on the wing, this would work.

@____Damoo RTS came in and did a fair bit of work in the back field when he played centre. I don't think we've had guys capable of those sorts of yardage carries in the centres for a while. CNK could easily take the 2nd carry of each set.

@antonposa Those are starts at FB. I agree Taine is better on attack but I'm not 100% it's a net positive overall with him at FB. Either way, I think we need to recruit here until someone from our juniors emerges.

@____Damoo Too basic a stat. How many of Taine's games did Metcalf play? Was Barnett out too? And did Taine start at fullback or was he moved there from the wing during the game? All I'm saying is Taine can create opportunities in attack where CNK can't. And I think we need more.
