The defending from Chelsea seems to get worse game to game Rather than problem being fixed, it's being magnified greater.......

@ConnorHolden00 Yes for sure. I've been very surprised by Santos' lack of starts recently, seems a little odd And especially for this kind of match, he suits it better than Lavia

@______Shiv He should’ve started tbf, would’ve had him and Sarr in from the start against these types of defensive structure

Absolutely terrible, firstly once again with the press, a stagnant line without pressure on the ball ~ easy to break and a lovely finish from Beto Secondly, so many bounce passes and slowing it at the wrong moments, feels like players are making shorter passes because it’s an instruction but not because they understand the WHY ~ afforances feel very off Drop Enzo back, get Steve on the right and let Cole drift in the 10 (drop deep and force things to shift the tempo) ~ also wouldn’t mind Neto off, Pedro to the left and Delap up top, not enough force going the other way, Everton very happy to sit in their midblock and jump out, little threat beyond (Garna on too at 60 ideally)

Across two legs in the Round Of 16 of the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea collided in a rematch of the Club World Cup final by going toe-to-toe........ sort of! This is how PSG used technical IQ to DESTROY Chelsea! ✍️ @AttackingFooty attackingfootball.com/how-psg-beat-c…

This is what I expect the teams to look like from the start and also what to expect when we have possession Bournemouth will look to block off wide channels, deliberately forcing us to play on the inside This means they will try overload the inside channel and turnover possession before directly playing in behind for their forwards where there'll be space

I don't remember any international manager in this era going with the method of choosing such big squad. But I quite like the idea for that in this break since a lot of places in the squad is full of competition The midfield in particular, all the talent and variety in profile is a very rich luxury Obviously not all of these players are going to feature in the friendlies. But Tuchel will also closely monitor the behaviours of players and how they train, not just how they play on a matchday. All these factors come to play ahead of the World Cup in the summer

Hákon Haraldsson has been on for about 30 seconds for Lille and his impact has already been evident In possession he drops into deeper pockets. He can then receive on the half-turn and attempt to drive at Villa's defence. A tidy player I always enjoy watching

Lamine Yamal with another example of winning the “duel before the duel.” He reads Burn expecting the run in behind (no pressure on the ball), so he fakes it with a sidestep to create more separation. Ball manipulation after is another topic.
Fathalli@FathalliMo

Off-Ball Movement is Your 12th Player. Barcelona, Bayern, PSG have all answered the “How to beat the current m2m meta?” question in this last CL round. But beyond all the rotations and position swaps, it still comes down to the small battles. Win the “duel before the duel” and everything else opens up More 👇🏻 footballanalysishub.com/post/off-ball-…

Jorge Cestero has a very bright future! 🌟 I have really enjoyed his ability to create angles in the first phase of build-up; sometimes he would drop in between the two centre backs or he would pull wide to create central spaces for others to attack When he receives the ball, the way he makes the game tick is beautifully effortless. He is capable of playing through lines or opening his body up to angle a pass wide He is also the kind of player that is impossible to press. If you jump to press, not only would space be vacant for someone else to attack but Cestero will also find a teammate. You also can't afford to give him time on the ball either otherwise he will find a progressive pass.

@aziztactics He was always going to come good for Liverpool, even though he needed a little bit of time to adapt to new team dynamics and demands from his coach Liverpool have got a fantastic left back with and without the ball

Usually, I don’t mind people using my videos elsewhere without credit, as long as my @ stays on the video of course. But using my content to gain traction and then trying to scam people off it? That’s where I draw the line.

@stirling_j In the last few weeks, there seems to be an increased trend of teams using rotation principles to disrupt/manipulate man-marking I like this shift

The rotations certainly helped them a lot during the 2nd half, it proved deadly I felt at half time that this was the key ingredient they were missing as through 'pre determined' triggers, Newcastle were shifting from a zonal block to man-oriented pressure which early on caused problems Once the Barça players were rotating around to drag and pull Newcastle players out of position, they won the tie there (Lewandowski-Burn for example)

🚨Uploaded a video on my second channel yesterday about Barcelona vs Newcastle (breaking the man for man press) Would really appreciate any and all support on this, as I’m looking to upload weekly on here so I can cover a broader topic of things whilst still covering Chelsea on a weekly basis too! Got some podcasts in the works, some really exciting video ideas, so please if you have the time, show some love 💙 Link 👇

Most of the Premier League sides who got battered in the Champions League didn't lose to the European sides they faced respectively because of fatigue or the PL being 'stronger' They lost out because the likes of PSG and Barcelona had far greater technical IQ to counter the rough and tough nature of English teams How they did that was by positional and press manipulations. Positionally, they would look to use a +1 in different areas of build-up to overload. How they manipulated man-oriented pressing was through fluid rotations
