Detailed Description.
My Take on this whole 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill 2026 is as follows.
1. This Bill has nothing to do with women's Reservation in totality. Indeed,it is just to say,to delimit the women's representation in the Lok Sabha or the States/UT,on the basis of 2011 census, this Bill is related to women's representation. Meaning, had it been passed,an urgent Delimitation Commission would have constituted and on the basis of the 2011 census,1/3rd seats would have reseved for the women following 106th CAA 2023.
For your information - 106th CAA itself has a worrisome issue of SC/ST Women Representation within the already reserved SC/ST seats, that too I have covered in detail. Plz see in my tweets,3 or 4 days back.
2. The Delimitation Commission would have constituted and the exercise of delimitation would have taken place. Tbh,no need to hurry up here. And that too on 2011 census.
3. Seats would have increased to 850.
So,we have to see it critically.
Let's wait for Census data of 2026/27. Delimitation should take place on this census data only. There is no point in doing this in 2011 data, and that too after taking every state in confidence.
1/3rd seats for women are already reserved,it's a law now. So, implement it in the State Election of 2027, such as UP, Gujarat,UK, Punjab, Manipur,HP,on the basis of the already set trend. If any opposition parties resist, then there is any concern and should be criticised.
Summary*.
Repeating again - 2011 census won't serve any purpose. Take everyone in confidence. Wait for the recent Census Data.
106th CAA related it 1/3rd representation of women has now become a law and already came in force from 16th April 2026. But,there is an issue of Quota within the Quota. But,no body is talking. Firstly solve the issue. Check Comment Section.
Hope, You got the gist.
