🇸🇬 Singapore vs 🇮🇩 Indonesia on Claude AI usage — straight from Anthropic’s Economic Index (March 2026). Singapore ranks #1 out of 116 countries with a 5.53x usage index. Indonesia sits at #95 with just 0.30x. That’s a massive 18x gap. In SG 🇸🇬, people use Claude for building/debugging AI systems, advanced scientific research, and professional business analysis. In ID 🇮🇩, the top uses are academic assignments, creative fiction, religious/spiritual content, and data extraction. Every day my colleagues here in Indo rave about how Claude has changed their lives. I’m glued to podcasts like Dwarkesh and TBPN, thinking that ID is on the same AI wave as the rest of the world. Turns out… the rest of the country isn't. It’s just today that I realized — I’ve been living in a complete bubble.

Singapore’s AI obsession just hit Everest peak. The Foreign Minister is self-hosting Claude on a Raspberry Pi and building a diplomatic knowledge graph using Karpathy’s LLM Wiki pattern. Wahlao! SG devs, the minister is coming for your job. And he’s not even using Cursor — he’s on NanoClaw running locally. Can someone git pull his code and give it a test. Only bad thing? I saw someone claiming that they are doing this, anddd the website that they produce are totally dogshit and barely usable. The guy even posted a conversation of his customer complaining about data discrepancies from the system that he built😭😭🙏🏻

Talking to smarter folks than me, I'm convinced many of the AI folks in my timeline are full of shit. Nobody is "running 20 agents over night" and building stuff for actual users. Maybe some are building internal tools or disposable software. Maybe. But building software people like using? That doesn't get hacked on day one or blow up after the 3rd user? Nope. I don't even understand what that's supposed to look like. Do you work out a 57 pages document that perfectly describes what you want to build and then summon 14 agents and have them run wild for 6 hours? And what comes out on the other end isn't a broken pile of shit? Nope. Not buying it. PS: it may also be that I have an IQ of 82 and can't figure it out.
