Phuket Thailand is really great right now ... The island has gotten more peaceful with tourism down around 20%-25% Khao Lak (north of Phuket) is down more because a higher percentage of the tourists are European. What always amazes me with the general public as travellers is the absolute lack of research they do for their holidays. There's obviously European and U.K. citizens right now fearing that due to Middle East disruption they might not be able to get back home easily to go back to work / kids get back to school etc. Literally all they have to do is get the World map out and research flying somewhere else first, instead fo going anywhere near the Middle East. Prime example ---> There's direct flights to Phuket from Tashkent in Uzbekistan and you can fly from London and Frankfurt to Tashkent. London to Phuket via Tashkent Economy in April ? Around EUR400 one way. Ridiculous! If you go to Khao Lak you will get 5 and 4 star hotels at ridiculously low rates. Occupancy rates right now are probably below 40%. But I know what i'd do. I'd stop in Tashkent for at least a few days on the way to Thailand and eat at Besh Qozon and sample the Tashkent food culture / nightlife. At least do some proper research instead of thinking all flights are 2 grand or more and cancelling holiday plans. They're not! .., and you'll easily get home.

Sverige kommer att stödja Ukraina så länge som det krävs. Därför går regeringen idag fram med ett tjugoförsta militärt stödpaket till Ukraina för att möta deras behov av stöd inom luftförsvar, långräckviddiga vapensystem och ammunition. Det svenska militära stödpaketet till Ukraina uppgår till ca 12,9 miljarder kronor och blir därmed ett av de större svenska stödpaketen. Ukraina kämpar inte bara för sin frihet, de kämpar även för vår. När vi stödjer Ukraina försvarar vi även Sverige.

Tid för reflektion och respekt. Den kristna fastan är inledd. Nu när vi svenskar ätit fastlagsbullar för allt vad midjemått och plånbok håller för så vill jag uppmärksamma att den kristna fastan nyligen är inledd. Jag är själv inte troende i traditionell mening, men som kulturellt kristen och svensk värnar jag naturligtvis kristna traditioner. Att skilja kristendomen från svenskheten vore som att försöka plocka äggen ur sockerkakan. Sverige har ett mer än tusenårigt kristet arv och vår kultur, vår moral och etik, vår syn på rätt och fel, vilar i mycket hög utsträckning på en kristen grund. Därutöver hävdar jag att den överväldigande majoriteten av alla civiliserade demokratier bygger på just kristen värdegrund. Förståelsen och respekten för detta är något vi alla borde reflektera över, i synnerhet i dessa tider när islamism och andra främmande värderingar tar allt större plats i vårt land. Och varför inte passa på att reflektera över det nu? Fastans 40 dagar är ju ändå en tidsperiod tänkt att ägnas åt just reflektion och eftertanke.

Det viktigaste är att Ukraina får långsiktigt stöd, därför är det bra att EU:s ledare kom överens om att säkra finansieringen för 2026 och 2027 i natt. Men det hade varit bättre att använda de ryska frysta tillgångarna. Även om resultatet inte blev vad vi hoppats på är det viktigt att inte gå på det ryska narrativet om att det här är ett misslyckande. Det är såhär det är att leva i ett demokratiskt system, ibland får man kompromissa och förhandla. Men vi vinner i längden, medan Putin håller på att köra sin ekonomi i botten och låter sina medborgare dö på slagfältet i ett omoraliskt och orättfärdigt krig.
