2026 needs a new CSV format that supports multiple sheets and that doesn't require escaping. ASCII US (Unit Separator) for comma ASCII RS (Record Separator) for newline ASCII GS (Group Separator) between worksheets *maybe* ASCII FS (File Separator) for embedded images Three header rows: 1. name of worksheet 2. Names (like usual) 3. Types (string, int, date, etc) Editors should treat Unit Separator like tab, except that it should be calculated to the data-width and data can wrap within the column based on maximum display width or column width. RS should obviously represent rows, and GS for tabs. Binary data must be hex encoded (because it compresses better than base64). Any data containing those control characters or other non-printing, non-UTF characters is considered binary. Metadata can be stored in a group before the worksheet begins. Lines starting with `#` and followed by `.` and no other separator until GS can be used to pad groups to a rounded standard size to avoid full-file rewrites on simple metadata or single-value update. No formulas or user-oriented spreadsheet stuff. This is just a data format for APIs and AIs.

Yes, my Task Manager alternative comes with a run dialog, complete with command history, autocompletion and more. No, it does not take 94 ms to appear. Computers can be fast!

Just found out an active File Pilot community member @thomasklemenc made a task manager inspired by it! Handmade from scratch, C++, win32, D3D custom renderer, 1.55 MB. More of this in my feed, less AI slopware.

I love it when Claude says "the real problem is the noisy log about [actual problem], I'll comment out line 127". See no evil, be no evil - am I right?

@_beyondcode @ryanburnette Oh yes, I'm very aware of it. I'm somewhat of a virtualization geek. So when I setup a server I just always go with something handcrafted because I like to do everything myself.

Let's make isolated developer environments a real thing. We failed like 20 times to do this but who's up for another round?

I'm pretty sure that Opus 4.6 has been nerfed to push us into Opus 4.7. It's gone stupid.

@ibuildthecloud @ryanburnette Proxmox is a hypervisor, kinda like Docker and Vagrant, but you generally install it as the bare metal OS and use it via API or CLI or Web UI to create you networks and containers and VMs, etc.

I'm writing Go again (for what, you'll see later...). `go doc` and `gopls` are like agent superpowers and its shocking how productive agents are out of the box at writing [good] Go code versus other languages I've used (including the JS ecosystem). Also, Go + Zig is a good mix. Go for the higher level and concurrent stuff and then no-libc Zig code plus the Zig compiler for zero dependency cross-compiled cgo with high-performance characteristics (minimize cgo boundary crosses). Chefs kiss. Its funny because a lot of the shitty ergonomics of Go CLIs like `go doc` and `gopls` (prev. stuff like `go oracle` or `guru`) are totally obviated by agents and not just that but in a twist of irony they're excellent for agents. Don't worry, its not Ghostty. Ghostty and libghostty will remain pure Zig; it's a fantastic fit and a perfect pairing. This is for something else. "Wait, I thought you said Go has no place anymore?" I was wrong, mostly because agents are so productive at Go. I won't bring in other languages in this discussion because I don't want to feed the crabs, so to speak. lol.

So far... Opus 4.7 seems to be a "clean code" meme generator - it comes up with the most useless abstractions and what certainly can't be intentional malicious compliance. Opus 4.6 > Sonnet 4.6 > Opus 4.7

@Box scrolling is broken all across the Developer Console - in any list that has enough items to require a scroll, the last few items go out of the viewable area and cannot be scrolled to.

hmm finally admitted ipv6 is a mess and dropped an internet draft for ipv8 if an ipv4 address looks like 1.1.1.1, an ipv8 address looks like 1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 kinda wild it took 25 years to just suggest making the numbers longer haha

we went from "just copy the .exe file" to "first install docker, kubernetes, helm charts, and sacrifice a goat to deploy hello world" honestly embarrassing how deploying software somehow turned into a ritual remember when you could just... run things?

Help me understand the use case of Claude extra usage. Since they ~halved the value of the $200/month plan, I ran out of my weekly allotment in just a few days. But I had $200 in free "extra usage" credits - for the inconvenience of disabling 3rd party harnesses. Well, it seems to run 50¢ ~ $1 per minute. In a matter of a half a day, that's going to be gone. So... is it meant for people on the $20/month tier that just need 1 extra prompt that day? Certainly anyone on the $200/month plan just has to buy a second account of at least $100/month to get even a day's worth of work done, right?

@ollama cloud seems *really* slow today on glm-5 and glm-5.1 I'm switching back to hand coding because even simple tasks are taking waaaaaay too long. Are the resources over-provisioned? Is the pricing model not profitable?
