It’s embarrassing to admit that for me, the most annoying part of raising kids is: if I want my kids to be curious & independent, then I need to say yes enthusiastically when they ask if they can make eggs and I know I’m about to have the most annoying 15 minutes in human history
O.W. Root@owroot

Our older kids (6, 4) get their breakfasts ready just about every morning. It takes about 4 times as long as it should, there is probably more mess than there should be, but they do a pretty decent job, it gives us one less thing to do (even if unfortunate spills might occur), and it teaches them something they need to know. I think this is what a lot of parenting amounts to.

Placing people in power who are on your side and who will fight for your agenda - even if they are "ethically challenged," meaning he had an affair - is better than promoting a Boy Scout who sells you out. Some in GOP Inc still don't get this - or they're not on your side.
Bill Melugin@BillMelugin_

NEW: Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) reacts to President Trump’s endorsement of Ken Paxton: “I don't understand it. He is an ethically challenged individual. John Cornyn is an outstanding senator and deserved, in my judgment, the president's support, obviously it's the president's call, but I'm disappointed that he did it.”

My grandpop raised five kids on a welder’s salary in a home on ten acres with a pond in the middle. He had fourwheelers, campers, a boat, tons of fishing and hunting gear. And I logon to X to see some boomer telling me to start packing my lunch if I want a better life.

“Why don’t you just eat fucking ramen everyday? Just eat peanut butter and ramen for 50 years dumbass and invest all your money into the pico top of the gayest most fragile empire in history you dumbass idiot. Just starve and eat shit and dirt everyday for your entire life and then you can spend $30 on lunch when you’re old and about to die it’s simple. Don’t you know your 20’s are for grinding?? You’re supposed to eat shit for the majority of your life that’s why your ancestors built America. So you could eat shit and fucking die moron.”

Official statement on the newly uncovered Reddit comments from Graham Platner “Graham Platner is unfit to serve Maine. He is out of control, unhinged, and lacks the poise necessary to represent us in the US Senate. As time goes on, the Reddit comments uncovered from just a few years ago become increasingly revolting. It has become abundantly clear that he is not right for Maine.”

Over half of all Americans attend some form of ‘higher education’ today, something that was once reserved for a small cohort of people. A large chunk of them don’t even get a degree - just the debt. Closing down 75% of universities will not result in any loss to mind or culture, will save people a lot of $$, and will force schools to fire administrators and focus on research and teaching - for students who actually belong there and want to be there. Pinching off these schools is a good thing.
Anthony Bradley@drantbradley

Clemson is $1.5B in debt. Syracuse is closing or pausing 93 programs, UNC-Chapel Hill plans to cut spending by $89M over 3 years. Duke recently let 600 employees go in a $350M budget cut. Indiana public colleges announced a plan to eliminate or merge 580 programs statewide.

So here it is: King Edward VIII Falls, photographed from the ground for the first time since 1935. If you're reading this post, you are now on an extremely short of people who have ever seen this place, in photographs or otherwise. S. Bracewell, P.A. Forte, myself, my team, and you.

Remote work changed my life. It allowed me to travel to places I would never have seen because of low American vacation hours. It allowed me to job stack for a year to save up a nice sum. It allowed me space for side projects. It allowed me to do many other things. Covid for me was like the black death. Killed a million Americans. But freed a lot of peasants who survived.
𐌁𐌉Ᏽ 𐌕𐌉𐌌𐌉@OrevaZSN

The fact that 90% of employees prefer a hybrid or remote work setting, yet senior leadership teams continue to mandate full return-to-office policies, perfectly encapsulates how the corporate world operates.

My high school wrestling coach had a promising freshman wrestler that was big for his age so he often paired him up with myself and another junior, his star wrestlers, thinking it would help him toughen up faster. Instead it completely broke his fighting spirit, induced learned helplessness. My coach lamented to me at the end of my senior year “I shouldn’t have put him in with you guys, he just learned to ‘belly wrestle’ he needed to learn to win first.” I never forgot that. You build up young men by helping them earn small victories that snowball into big victories by being stern but encouraging. Literally progressive loading. You don’t make a kid strong by putting him under a 450 lb squat bar. It’s just too obvious, but sonless retards think that’s how it works. They think kicking a young man while he’s down will get him to get his shit together. It’s just not how it works.

What’s a sex scene that genuinely mattered to the plot and couldn’t be removed from the film?
